The Moon Lay Hidden Beneath A Cloud

Probably one of the best band ever, the austrian duo released only masterpieces through its short existence. Good luck to you if you try to put your dirty hands on their albums, they’re now as sought as the holy grail itself.
From music to artwork, absolutely everything is perfect and I can’t think of no band as appealing as this one.
It’s bones and old stones, ritual chants and stories of blood, honor and poisoned daggers.
Here’s a gift to all their admirers and an interesting prelude for the strangers out there. Here’s the long gone “Book Of Lyrics” written by Alzbeth and compiling all the lyrics (and the texts that inspired them) in an astonishing presentation.
Welcome (back) to the crypt.

Only Death Is Real

You just need to have a quick look at the cover to instantly know this book is beyond awesome…
“Only Death Is Real” is, as a title says, an illustrated history of Hellhammer and early Celtic Frost from 1981 to 1985 by Tom G. Fischer & Martin E. Ain, the two masterminds behind these two legendary bands. To quote Tom G. Warrior: “This is a book about the real Hellhammer, the essence of that group, the aura it carried, and the truly unique spirit of revolution of the times in which it existed. It is a book about a group of outcasts—about persistence, dedication, and an utterly personal vision. I have worked very hard to make sure it will do justice to the work of a number of very unique people who shared the same ideas at a very unique point in time.”
A very good appetizer before the Tryptikon album. And if you’re interested in Fischer ugly thoughts, have a look at his blog here.

Purchase “Only Death Is Real” here.

If after that, you’re listening to Isis, then there’s nothing more I can do for you…

A Day In The Afterlife

I recently fell, body and soul, in the K. Dick vacuum. It probably happened when one night, after too many drinks, I decided to watch “Totall Recall” again… “Philip K. Dick: A Day In The Afterlife” was produced for the BBC and focuses on the man himself, in all his crazy, drug-addled, paranoid glory. The mind behind some of most interesting sci-fi books is fascinated by the constant bombardment of advertising, the effects of giant media conglomerates, and the overwhelming feeling that the world in which we live exists only in the glowing vacuum tubes of countless television sets. It is an ode to one of the most creative minds in science fiction, and another step in the crusade for a wider recognition of his accomplishments.
Mandatory watch…
