TWILIGHT MAN

3 Jan 2012 § 0

“Twilight Man” by Boyd Rice is out now on Heartworm Press or any good book store.
These are his supposed memoirs of his career in San Francisco as an alarm agent. Just started it so can’t say too much at the moment except I always liked good storytellers…

From the back cover:

“Long after San Francisco’s Summer of Love turned into a Winter of Hate, Boyd Rice was the voice of a new, truly lost generation. Brimming with protoapocalyptic violence and populated by trolls, swarming rats, junkies, hookers, angry white men and homicidal eunuchs, Twilight Man proves the author’s fiction as extraordinary as his life. When it comes to noire, it’s hard to think a man more truly dark than Boyd Rice.”
– Carlo McCormick

“Only Boyd Rice could deliver the perfect surreal film-noir account of his wild nights responding to alarm calls in San Francisco’s Chinatown. Twilight Man is full of fun and exciting adventure tales from everyone’s favorite misanthrope!”
– Dwid Hellion

“Never have I read such horrific and depraved tales and never have I laughed so hard. Boyd Rice the boy may have been born in the sunny suburb of Lemon Grove, but Boyd Rice the man was created in the apocalyptic, bloodfilled, shit-stained streets of San Francisco. Twilight Man is easily the funniest and most fucked up book I have ever read. Nobody, not even Boyd, could make this shit up.”
– Matt Skiba

“Twilight Man is a gripping account of falling out of love with a city that has turned sour and the inhabitants, both man and beast, feral. Boyd Rice has penned a classic action adventure steeped in noir aesthetics and pulp style. The world is on fire, let’s dance.”
– Nina Antonia

“A memoir that reads like the best of neo-noir, suitably packed with as much truth and humor to satisfy the devil himself.”
