Hoax is a hardcore band with a singer who’s calling for trouble when he’s on stage. Sometimes he also hits himself up with the mic. That’s about it really, cool pissed-off music. They did this video with a lot of gay sex imagery which I like a lot.

I don’t know much about King Tuff but Hammer horror stuff mixed with rock n’ roll is always cool.

Ok, not exactly fresh news but I just read this really cool comic book about Jeffrey Dahmer’s youth called “My Friend Dahmer” by Derf Backderf. Jeffrey Dahmer, the infamous serial-killer who loved, killed, mutilated and ate (in no specific order) a bunch of cool looking young guys back in the eighties with this cute particularity of storing body parts for months for his own entertainment. Of course, these killings didn’t come out of the blue, one could even point out it was the long coming consequence of a compulsive fascination for roadkill, animals entrails (“I wanted to say what it looked like” said Dahmer), death and all sorts of putrid things that inevitably led him to social awkwardness, sexual frustration, alcoholism and, finally, kill a whole lot of people. Thank God, he wasn’t a Black Sabbath fan…

“My Friend Dahmer” tells you all about the upbringing of young Dahmer, upbringing which took place in some small town of the Midwest and a rather, o surprise, shitty family environment. Not exactly the right time and place to get oneself out of the closet to say the least. And so inevitably, we see lonely Dahmer slowly but surely turned into the serial-killer he was bound to become. The big turn-on about this piece of work, and what makes it so unique, is the fact that it was actually drawn and written by someone who spent junior high and high school with Dahmer! What you got here is a recollection of Dahmer memories from a young kid throughout his teenage years.

Empathy but not sympathy, it’s what the author is giving us, far from any CNN sensationalism crap and typical villain portraiture, not to mention the goofy graphic style contrasting drastically with the horror of the subject dissected here with the outmost accuracy (Derf also dug up a lot of archive material).

Hard to say if Dahmer’s life would have been different if the people around him, starting from his parents, would have paid more attention to him. My humble take on this is that the guy could have maybe found salvation if he only he had the capability of turning his shit into art. Be it gay porn or taxidermy or porn taxidermy or Nicolas Cage.

(Mais bon sans ca c’est vrai qu’on aurait jamais eu droit a un tel joyau il faut bien l’avouer…)

At least this comic book will give you another vision of one of the biggest figure from the golden age of serial-killers, when they were wearing brown suits, big glasses, driving dodgy vans while Donna Summer was playing on the radio and DNA wasn’t yet their worst nightmare.

“My Friend Dahmer” conception started soon after Jeffrey’s death and its first incarnation got turned down by all publishers circa 1994. Derf decided to auto-published a shorter version that instantly gained a cult status in the underground in 2002 (and even got adapted as a stage play), it eventually got published to international acclaim in its full extent in 2012.

Not sure. Again, I believe most things aren’t what they seem.

Barbarossa Umtrunk is by far the most interesting band in the (martial) industrial music scene today. Originating from France, their music is a complex occult labyrinth dealing with extra-ordinary concepts linked to each other in a sacred geometric figure, concepts such as Nazi Esoterism, Gnosis, Tradition, Sufism, Astronomy, Cosmology, Mythology, Runes and the list goes on and on… A fantastic melting-pot of the magical, the spiritual, the legendary and the mysterious ruled by a metapolitical and transhistorical agenda: it is indeed important to mention that Barbarossa Umtrunk doesn’t limit themselves to a vulgar scholar exposé of their thematics. There’s a band with a message, a band who has gradually become, over the years, more and more engaged in their spiritual quest, an engagement coined by the term: Pan Hyperborean Intifada. And although the band is not afraid to approach many different ideas and subjects, they have thus far stuck to a very defined concept on each album. Their last opus, “Der Talisman Des Rozenkreuzers”, is focused on the life and work of Baron Von Sebottendorf, founder of the infamous Thule Society (among many, as we’ll discover here, other things).

I’ve been following the band almost since its inception and oddly enough, their concepts & themes have always had a deep resonance in me and sparked an outgrowing interest that went far beyond the simple listening of their music. What are these concepts? Where do they come from? Who are these mysterious authors who contributed, through countless centuries, to these occult Traditions? Who are the actors behind this invisible and parallel History that no school manual ever mentioned? These are all questions I’ve been asking myself and now that my life is taking a new turn, that a few books have been read and that I was able to catch a glimpse of this majestic and immanent cyclopean figure that lies behind all things, I felt that the time had come to ask all these questions to the protagonist himself of this very strange and beautiful adventure named Barbarossa Umtrunk. So we got in touch with Baron Von Stenay, the only member of the band, and he kindly agreed to answer our questions via e-mail.

DISCLAIMER: This interview was originally done in french and then later translated into english. Due to the esoteric, philosophical and scientific content of this interview and the high complexity of some of its concepts as well as the use of not always translatable notions and terms, please indulge some potential approximations in the translation. In the same respect, the title of each book quoted here has been translated in english only when an english translation of the book is available on the market. Since we also wanted to share with our french readers all the langage subtleties of the french version and also because Barbarossa Umtrunk constantly refers to the History of France, you’ll find a french version of this interview right after the english one. Cooking with Satan: To begin with, can you introduce Barbarossa Umtrunk to those who don’t know the band? How would you describe Barbarossa Umtrunk music?

Baron von S: Barbarossa Umtrunk is the expression of my mythical, historical, political & esoteric search. The music mixes ethnic, tribal and shamanic music samples from the East with apocalyptic martial orchestrations and ritual soundscapes composed of ambient and hypnotic post-industrial loops. I try to bring an epic but also a contemplative dimension to my music. The french vocals and the lyrics they articulate also play a big part in the making of my records which are all very faithful and rigorous towards the metaphysical concept they embrace.

CwS: What is your musical background before Barbarossa Umtrunk? What are your first musical memories and how did you get into industrial music?

BvS: My first musical crush goes back to my teenage years, right in the middle of the 90’s, when I heard for the first time iconic industrial & goth bands like Dead Can Dance, Killing Joke, NIN, Bauhaus, Christian Death, Virgin Prunes, ITN, The Cranes, Collection d’Arnell-Andrea, Cocteau Twins, Norma Loy, Die Form, Calva y Nada, Dive, Einstürzende Neubauten, Savage Republic just to name a few… Then I quickly got into apocalyptic-folk and martial-industrial music with bands like Laibach, SPK, Psychic TV, Current 93, Coil, Death in June, 6th Comm, Sol Invictus, Ataraxia, Test Dept, NON, Brighter Death Now, Melek-Tha, In Slaughter Natives, Aghast, Scorn, Neurosis, Hybrids, Runes Order and the whole Cold Meat Industry scene. All these bands somewhat inspired me and pushed me in making my own music. It’s around that time that the Norwegian black-metal scene exploded and I also got into it, although I’d never been into metal music before that, except for doom and sludge… But overall, I have to say that I got the biggest kick by the end of the nineties from bands like Der Blutharsch and Blood Axis who injected some fresh blood in the dark-folk scene and really made me want to be part of this emerging scene. On a strictly creative level, aside from a few experiments on analog synths and some musical collages I recorded by myself, I’ve never really done anything solid before Barbarossa Umtrunk except a very short time as a keyboardist in a local black-metal band with friends of mine who were into left-hand magick. It’s only when I met Ra-Khan that the idea of making some music on my own came along. And this close collaboration led to Barbarossa Umtrunk’s very first steps. In 2005 we tried to put together a real band with a line-up but it didn’t work out and we split right after having published a track on the mythic “Scrontum Act V”, released by WOP, and having produced “Ungern Khan”. I stopped for about a year and then decided to relaunch the band thanks in part to G.C., a member of the past sessions. So between 2008 and 2009, Barbarossa Umtrunk surfaced again and released two demos “Regnum Sanctum” and “Glazialkosmogonie” on SkullLine.

CwS: Your new album, “Der Talisman des Rozenkreuzers”, is dedicated to the Baron Rudolf Von Sebottendorf. Who was this mysterious character and why did you decide to dedicate a record to him?

BvS: I read many books about the Thule Society (editor’s note: you’ll see soon the link between the Thule Society and Von Sebottendorf) and even at the very beginning of the band, Ra-Kha and myself already had in mind to reproduce the rituals of the Thule on stage one day. The Jean Mabire book, “Thulé, le Soleil retrouvé des Hyperboréens”, that I never get tired of reading over and over, was a big influence among others. There’s also “Hitler et la Tradition Cathare” by J.M. Angebert and of course, I have to name another book, much harder to find, “Hitler, L’élu du Dragon” by Jean Robin. For more recent works, I would also like to mention the short pamphlet by David Owen “A Secret Society at the origins of Nazism” which sheds some light on new revelations about the Baron Sebottendorf as well as a very enlighting article by Thierry Zarcone about the Sufis origins of “Die Praxis der Alten Türkischen Freimaurerei” (editor’s note: a book written by Rudolf Von Sebottendorf). All these books somehow pushed me in the making of this album.

Jean Mabire / Thulé, le Soleil retrouvé des Hyperboréens

A few years ago I also got very interested in Sufism, the esoteric side of Islam, the one that comes from the “inside”, from the heart, quite opposed to the modern Islam which comes from the outside and basically stands today as its parodic, puritan counterpart, playing the game of terrorism and fundamentalism under the supervision of the USIsrael.
My interest in Sufism, “Taçawuff ” in Arab, progressively led me to its Turkish and Central-Asian side which tends to step away from orthodox Sufism and leans towards Turko-mongol shamanism. The Bektashis are among its most faithful representatives and it is to this very specific Dervish way that Sebottendorf got initiated. He also refers to its teachings in “The Practice of the Ancient Turkish Freemasons”. I wanted to incorporate all these different spiritual connections through songs narrating his initiation within these Turkish brotherhoods, brotherhoods that were actually everything but masonic. On top of that, I managed to get my hands on some sound recordings of ritual Bektashis chants and some of its close affiliates and I thought it would definitely be something interesting to use for the record.

Finally, I wasn’t satisfied with the tracks we wrote for our split with Seuchensturm dedicated to Thule and the main idea behind “Der Talisman des Rosenkreuzers” was to give to this old record a second life by keeping only enhanced versions of the best tracks and mix them with some new, better shaped songs. I also wanted to explore the sole Pangermanist aspect of this new album through Hyperborean atmospheric parts, like “Veilleur où en est la nuit ?” for example, and lastly I felt the need to incorporate some typical militarist industrial tracks, as bombastic and militant as they can be. As you can see, the subject of the Thule Society embraces perfectly all the creative input I wanted to give to the album. Once again, like on my previous record “Agharti”, my music navigates between the East and the West, in quest of a place located beyond any geographical limits, in quest of this Supreme Source that lays deep within the heart of the world and rises above the threshold of the meta-cosmic pole, even beyond intersideral space and the miasmas of time. The illuminating light that lays beyond the darkness, the Green Light rising from the dawn of the Black Sun.

CwS: Rudof Von Sebbotendorf is also the author of “Der Talisman Des Rosenkreuzers” which gives its name to the album. What contains a book with such an intriguing title? And what is this secret mission also referenced in the title?

BvS: This is an autobiography in which he tells us about his various tribulations and his Rosicrucian and Sufi initiations. The secret mission that you can find in the title of the album is the very one he mentions in his book “The Practice of the Ancient Turkish Freemasons”, a mission ordered by mysterious secret delegates that he names “People of the Letter Mim”, a group of Unknown Superiors who seem to have quite in common with the “Sons of the Valley” from the Templar legends. His most adventurous and mystical life is somewhat similar to the legendary life of Christian Rosenkreutz, who was also initiated in the East and mandated by Unknown Superiors to bring to the West the order of the Rosicrucian Brotherhood. Now, about the eschatological goals of this secret mission, I wrote thoroughly on this subject in a short essay called “Les Filiations Occultes de la Loge Thulé et la Mission Secrète du Baron Sebottendorf” initially planned to be inserted in the booklet of the album. This essay will actually be available exclusively in French as a bonus with the CD through SkullLine mailorder. My personal research on this subject led me to think, as I explain in my essay, that the mission the Baron assigned to himself by developing the Thule Society clearly had some geopolitical and esoteric goals as, in those days, the future of Europa but also the East was quite uncertain. My essay could surely have gone more in depth but I leave it up to the readers who would potentially be interested to keep investigating further by themselves and I couldn’t recommend to them enough to read the abundant and rich literature about the Thule Society.

Barbarossa Umtrunk / Der Testament des Rozenkreuzers

CwS: What episodes of his life did you decide to illustrate and how do they echo throughout the different tracks on the album? Did these episodes and their content give you musical direction or did music come first?

BvS: My first challenge was to put in music some of the famous texts written by the Baron and try to capture as much as I could the context and state of mind in which they were written. The second step was logically to add to the musical background some sound elements as close as possible to Sebottendorf’s “Weltanschauung”. Across the canvas of hypnotic loops and titanic orchestral movements, the tracks of the record alternate between mixing Turkish ethnic musical elements (evoking the Eastern initiations of the Baron and the life he supposingly lived in Istanbul) and samples from the era of 1919 Munich to throw the listener into the chaotic context of that time. In my music, everything is here for a reason… These two distinctive universes, Ottomans/Bektashis/Janissaire on one side and Prussian/Munichian/Pangermanist on the other sometimes overlap each other, just like on the outro of the album. Also, it’s important to note that the album doesn’t limit itself to the character of Baron Sebottendorf, but it also summons other eminent personalities of Esoteric Nazism like Karl Maria Weisthor on the track “Gotai Halgarita”. This is an old Barbarossa track that originally included a Tibetan invocation, creating a bizarre and ritual dimension infused with eastern flavor and tantrism, now strangely appended to a more warrior-like chanting.

CwS: One can’t deny the epic and cinemagraphic dimension of the album, and the eventful life of the Baron is the perfect match for this. Did any particular movies or soundtracks feed your work on this album? Who are the filmmakers you find inspiring?

BvS: We definitely try to bring a cinemagraphic dimension to our music and although I have not been influenced by any movie in particular for this record, my music is highly inspired by the atmospheres of some epic cinema work like “Alexander Nevski”, “Conan The Barbarian”, “Excalibur”, “Mongol”, the cartoon “Tygra, Fire and Ice”, or this Swiss TV movie I have on an old VHS tape called the “Barbaric Prince”—that tells the story of a Huns tribe running away from the Roman enemy in the heart of the Alps mountains. As for soundtracks, the likes of Hans Zimmer, Basil Pouledouris or Graeme Rewell are of course a source of inspiration. For the travels of the Baron in the East, I found some visual influences in the Peter Brook movie about Gurdjieff: “Meetings With Remarkable Men” (also an influence on my previous album “Agharti”). Some visions inspired by the movie “Blue Angel” were also a good way for me to get in the mood to write a song like “L’hotel des Quatre Saisons”.
Overall, I’m quite a cinema enthusiast, no matter the genre. The filmmakers that inspire me are the German Expressionists, the Italian Neo-realists, the French “Nouvelle Vague”, and directors as varied as Eric Rohmer, Jean-Pierre Melville, Jean Cocteau, Lars Von Trier, Tarkovsky, Werner Herzog, Akira Kurozawa, Shinya Tsukamoto, David Lynch, David Cronenberg, Wim Wenders, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Dario Argento, Guillermo Del Toro, John Carpenter, Kenneth Anger, Richard Stanley, Jean Rollin, and many more. I’m also fond of old French thrillers from the 70s and 80s, all the movies with Louis de Funes, as well as the action and sci-fi cinema: Fight Club, Matrix, Ghost in the Shell, Tetsuo 1 and 2, Mark XIII, Blade Runner, Watchmen, 2001, Dune, Stargate, 10000, Apocalypto, The Road, Ghosts of Mars, and Mad Max…
A bunch of TV shows were also an influence with stuff like Twin Peaks, The Prisoner, Lost, Battlestar Galactica (2003) and I need here to mention two most awesome and forgotten esoteric French TV shows from the good old days of the RTF: “Belphegor” and “Les Compagnons de Baal”. Some animes and mangas are also part of my influences and I even sampled some of them in my old tracks.

CwS: The choirs and chants on the album are quite well done, especially on the title track. Are these samples or a proper recording? Overall, the production on the record is awesome, how did you make that happen?

BvS: The choirs on the title track are the samples of the Bektashis rituals I was mentionning earlier, accompanied by a “Ney”, a typical instrument from central Asia. For this track, I mixed these ethnic and traditional elements with a post-industrial background supported by this very intense epic orchestral loop that closes the song. Usually, I work on my tracks step by step by composing first the ambient tracks on which the percussive elements will be added gradually as the writing progresses and after, I add the melodic elements and the arrangements. The vocals come at the very end on the parts where I think vocals would sound right. I’m entirely an autodidact and I’m doing the best I can, in the most humble way, to polish the mix and the production to the maximum my limited means and skills allow me.

CwS: Have you ever thought of using your voice in a less declaimed style?

BvS: Although I have to admit I’m not really gifted for singing, I still want to include more and more deeper incantatory vocals, more intense and less declaimed, yes. I also used a more aggressive tone on some older tracks and in the near future I want to explore other vocal techniques to expand my music and bring in some depth and variety.

CwS: Why did you make the decision to re-use some old musical themes on tracks like “Veilleur où en est la Nuit?” and “L’élu du Dragon Vert”?

BvS: Simply because, as I said earlier about the conception of the album, my first intention was to re-release my split with Seuchensturm, “Thule Gesellschaft”, reworked entirely. More precisely I wanted to replace some old songs with new songs. However, I didn’t want to get rid of two of these tracks that I considered to be really good. Still, I made some changes on “Veilleur où en est la Nuit?”, previsouly entitled “Thule Geselschaft”, and I also took this opportunity to exhume an exclusive track, “Gotai Halgarita”, that I mentioned earlier as well, in which you can hear mantras of the magus Karl Maria Willigut. I’d like to finally state that the track “L’élu du Dragon Vert” was entirely written by G.C. back in the “Thule Gesellchaft” days and I only remastered it for the new album.

CwS: Who is the third Sargon mentioned in the prophecy of the third Sharukin printed in the booklet of the album?

BvS: This prophecy of the Third Sargon (“Sargon” meaning in Akkadian “Legitimate King”) was revealed to Sebottendorf during his Eastern trips, as you’ll find out in my study on that topic. It is actually quite stunning to note how close this prophecy is to the most common themes about the reign to come of the Lord Of The World, when he will arise to the face of the earth under the appearance of the White Horseman of the Apocalypse of St. John, preceding the return of Christ. Numerous traditions sometimes refer to this as the Madhi, Kalki or Melki-Tsedek, or King of Justice and Truth. It is, once again, the myth of the sleeping Emperor, whether we’re talking about Sargon III, King Arthur in Avalon, the XIIth “occulted” Imaam from the Chiites, Barbarossa at the heart of the Kyffhauser sacred mountain, Adolf Hitler still alive somewhere in Antarctica, or the “Lost King” Dagobert II and his occult descendance, one and only true heir of the Kingdom of France. These universal principles of an “Occulted sacred royalty awaiting the Return of the Great Times at the hour of the ultimate Reversal of the Poles” are a constant in all these myths according to the famous Latin maxim “Ex Oriente Lux ex Occidente Dux” (meaning : “From the East comes the light, from the West comes the leader”).

CwS: There are a lot of special guests on the album, could you introduce them to us? Little is known about Elli Riehl, how did this collaboration go? Can you shed some light on the meanings of these collaborations, in an album where nothing is here by chance?

DvS: I like the concept of camaraderie and the idea to work in a “dual” mode with artists that I respect. I also think this is a very enriching experience, creatively speaking. Regarding the track “Walvater”, I wanted teutonic vocals to add a little kick, in order to give the song a second birth by including excerpts from the Scandinavian Eddas. I was already in touch with Elli Riehl and always found his voice terrifying and very intense, so I instantly thought of him as a guest on a track with strong Wagnerian and Thulean vibes. The result went beyond my expectations and other collaborations with Elli Riehl are already planned for the near future. My close friendship with TSIDMZ and Front Sonore explains their involvement on the album. I had already collaborated on “Agharti” with Schattenspiel and Tamerlan and I wanted to renew the experience this time by inviting bands creatively and ideologically closer to my own project. This topic was actually perfect for TSIDMZ, an experimental martial post-industrial band from Italy with an ideologic and esoteric path quite similar to mine and who is not afraid to play with fire either!

CwS: If you could meet the Baron today and ask him only one question, what question would that be?

BvS: Master, am I worthy to lead the fight again?

CwS: Is it the album you are the most proud of to this date? Where a neophyte who wants to explore the Barbarossa labyrinth should begin?

BvS: The two records I’m the most proud of are definitely “Der Talisman des Rosenkreuzers” and “Distant Shores of Hvetramannaland”, maybe because they are, according to me, the most well achieved. But “Agharti” has the best karma to begin with. It’s a good first approach to my music and the symbolic and traditional themes that it features.

CwS: Von Sebottendorf is also the funder of Thule Society. What was the Thule Society and the goal of this organization? What’s the link between the Thule Society and the Vril Society?

BvS: The occult and political goals of this organization are described and studied in my essay “The Occult Filiations of the Thule Lodge”. Regarding the Vril, the name often appears in the “New Age” and post-theosophic literature since the famous book collection “L’Aventure Mysterieuse” edited by J’ai Lu in France. The existence of this Vril lodge is actually quite uncertain although some micro secret societies used the name and a Vril Lodge even seemed to have been active in the days of the Thule Society and the Nazi Regime even if, again, there’s absolutely no proof of this. The mythic origin of Vril brings us back to a handful of books from the end of the XIXth century by E.B Lytton and Louis Jacolliot, who created the metapsychic and spiritual concept of the Vril energy way before, as I just said, it was rejuvenated through a so-called secret society of the same name in books like “The Morning of the Magicians” and all the “Mysterious Archeology” and “Fantasy Realism” literature that came to follow. It is worth mentioning that Pauwels and Bergier (editor’s note: the authors of “The Morning of the Magicians”) were making reference, in a veiled way, to the “Hermetic Brotherhood of Luxor” to which belonged H.P. Blavatsky before she went on creating the Theosophic Society. The Vril refers to the Astral Light of the occultist Eliphas Levi, the Green Ray of the alchemists and ancient Egyptians, the “Qi” energy of the taoists, the Green Light of the Sufis of Iran, and the Free Energy by Nicolas Tesla.

Thule Gesellschaft

CwS: We know that the Nazi party shut down the Thule Society because of its Masonic origins. Do you think that Masonic and Aryanist traditions are definitely incompatible?

BvS: No, on the contrary, it’s actually the whole “Aryanist”, and not only “Masonic”, nebulah that was shut down back then. Paganism, occultism, Pangermanism weren’t necessarily well received by the regime in power. Now, the Masonic elements that at some point were associated with the rituals of Thule, and other secret societies from the “Illuminist” trend, were first and foremost coming from Johannites and Templar influences supporting monarchy and the Prussian ideal. These influences were truly opposed to the official Masonry which was, as you may know, embracing the republican ideal. The Job Corporations at the origins of Freemasonry go back very, very early in time, back to the megalith builders and, we could almost say, right next to the mythic Hyperborean ages. A Masonic ritual like the “Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite”, which is quite interesting although not practiced anymore nowadays, is actually attached to this tradition. It was the 21st degree, the “Prussian or Noachite Knight”, attached to the antideluvian Enochian traditions and serving the “Holy German Empire”.

CwS: So Freemasonry nowadays has nothing to do with the Masonry of our elders?

BvS: Most parts of the current Freemasonry is indeed really far from its basic initiatory principles, and most of the time we actually observe a traditional inverted Masonry, an inversion of polarities like Evola would have said. Freemasonry nowadays has became nothing but a solid network of influences for our corrupted politicians and has strictly nothing to do with the Occult and Templar traditional Masonry.

CwS: So I guess it’s now time to discuss one of the main components of Barbarossa Umtrunk. The Thule Society naturally links our Baron to Nazi Esoterism. What are the main myths of Nazi Esoterism? What is their foundation—Pulp fantasies post WWII exploited in “The Morning of the Magicians” or, on the contrary, real and authentic pangermanist traditions?

BvS: I like to take as much from the authentic Indo-European traditions, at least what’s left of it, and extract the “Polar” gnosis still much alive, and the “Pangermanist” and “Aryanist” teachings of the interwar by Guido Von List or Von Liebenfiels. But I also explore Nazi Esoterism as developed in the work of Miguel Serrano or Savitri Devi, and the pulp fantasies that were flourishing after the war due to the publication of the “Morning of the Magicans” (which are for most part never really far from a retro-futurist “steampunk” universe, and quite interesting to explore musically speaking as well.) To mix all these elements and to let the listener explore by himself this maelstrom of sulphurous arcanes—you could say that was my goal each time I’ve been dealing with Nazi Occultism and Mysteries in my work.

Now about the “Morning of the Magicians”, you have to read the book between the lines, because it’s undeniable that numerous key esoteric concepts are hidden in it as well as valuable research elements for anyone who can open his soul and appreciate in its real value the “Fantasy Realism”, as Pauwels & Bergier liked to call their literature. This book had a huge impact on me when I was a teenager: I discovered for the first time all these theories and myths connected to the Nazi regime, these crazy stories about the Hollow Earth, Shambhala and Agartha, Nazi Supermen, Anterior Moons, Worlds of Ice, Superior Unknowns, the Vril, and so on… All these stories had a much stronger impact on me than any Lovecraft or Howard tale, even though they were my favorite “fantasy” authors back then and whose books, by the way, also contain terrifying truths hidden behind the literal meaning of the words. “The Morning of the Magicians” was the starting point of my own esoteric research so it will remain for me, despite all its mistakes and counter-truths, a must-read filled with info on Occult History, for those who know how to read and decipher the secrets hidden behind words. The fact this book influenced a huge number of “sensational” books is of course true, and that’s also the reason why it became a reference even with such approximations and controversies regarding its sources. And yes, the book didn’t get any younger, but, as far as I’m concerned, the charm is still effective.

CwS: Like you said, the “Morning of the Magicians”, which also made a huge impression on me I have to admit, compiles all these crazy stories and you mentioned a few… So what credit do you give to theories like the Hollow Earth, Worlds of Ice etc…. ?

BvS: I’m interested in these theories as parallel scientific theories, despite their apparent fantasy but also because they propose a different vision of the world, a vision you could coin of “magical” regarding cosmic and telluric phenomenons. Since I’m also really interested in modern Cosmology and Astronomy, I was able to establish some quite curious parallels with the para-scientific theories of Nazi Germany. Everybody knows today that the Moon was originally a piece of our Earth, pushed out by the impact of a meteorite the size of Mars, 4.4 billions years ago and astronomers sometimes even mention that two Moons could have coexisted for a while before the smaller one fell back to Earth, creating worldwide natural disasters.

Regarding Hollow Earth, it is now proven that our Earth is not hollow, at least within our four dimensions of Space and Time. However a very recent discovery by Japanese astronauts is worth mentioning: they sighted floating planets or wandering “black planets”, radiant but invisible and whose infra-red heat seems to be coming from their entrails which could shelter underground oceans, even life itself, on their internal surface (if they’re of telluric type). Dan Hooper and Jason Steffen, from Chicago Fermilab, were quoted saying: “These melted planets seem to be surrounded by a solid crust under which an underground life could be possible.” These black Stars are like Hollow Earths wandering through Space. There’s enough here to dream and stop considering wacky the theories about Hollow Earth(s). Current research about Vortex, the String Theory or the theory of the “All” bring astonishing answers to the question of parallel worlds located in the superior dimensions like Shambhala or Agharti. And I’m also giving credit to the existence, in a long forgotten past, of the Atlantean and Hyperborean continents and the mythic and legendary civilizations they bred. Once again, there are many interesting books and essays dealing with these theories that are far beyond the abject mass of New-Age books dealing with the same topics. You can find anything, from the most fanciful, to the most rigorous and scientific… You have to sort between the good and the bad among all this material. As for me, I enjoy digging through old issues of the “Atlantis” magazine by Paul Le Cour or “Kadath”, the publication about Mysterious Archeology by Jacques Gossart.

CwS: Let’s go back to Nazi Esoterism. You also dedicated a record to Miguel Serrano, who is one of the most famous Nazi Esoterists and who considered Hitler as the Last Avatar—in other words, a savior for mankind. Can you shed light on this character and the reason why you also decided to dedicate an album to him?

BvS: I read all the Serrano books translated in French and I followed up on the content of all the books he published in Spanish through the years. His ideas about Antarctica and the Black Sun truly reach the bottom of my heart. His poetic skill is also undeniable and his esoteric inspiration, whatever the critics might say, is quite rich and possesses a truly illuminating potential. His concepts, echoing the ones of Carl Jung, are abounding in originality and will make dream all nostalgics of a time when the Flame of Hope was still burning bright. Savitri Devi also speaks of Hitler as a Bodhisattva, a Tulku, an accomplished being who will reappear at the end of Kali-Yuga as Kalki. He was, in some ways, the prefiguration of the saviour to come preceding the descent of the Spirit, this Great Monarch “well guided” of the end of times as explained by the Guenonian Michel Valsân (editor’s note: we’ll talk about René Guenon a little later) quoted by Jean Robin.
For, as Parvulesco says, the ultimate hour hasn’t come yet, but the times are getting close. The times when the seven trumpets will ring and the white Horseman of the St. John prophecy will (re)appear. White Horseman who echoes to Leon Bloy visions and to Serrano and his very inspired work “Nietzsche and the Eternal Return” where the author talks, in a chapter entitled “The Atom Hallucination”, about neutrinos, particles travelling much faster than light itself, and brilliantly establishes a parallel between Kalki white horse galloping towards the past faster than light. A modern scientific theory proving once more the existence of superior and archetypal dimensions of which our space and time is only the truncated reflection. A concept quite dear to the hermestists and gnostics of all time, but also to Carl Jung and Miguel Serrano.

I’m myself interested in the theories of the “All” and the “Strings” among other recent scientific discoveries which are oddly close to the cosmogonies of the ancient days described by the Rosicrucian, the Gnostics, the teachings of the Cosmogenesis in books like “The Secret Doctrine” by H.P Blavatsky, or the writings of the Iranian theosophist Sohrawardi, the father of medieval Persan illuminism who shares a lot of concepts with Serrano. Regarding the theory of the “Absolute Structure” elaborated by Raymond Abellio in the fifties, it was foreshadowing, in its own langage, the concepts of “quarks” by the modern atomists and physicists. Actually, the Hindu Cosmogony is also rather close to the recent cosmologic discoveries as the theoretic work of the astrophysician Thinh Xuan Thuan suggests. I’m not going here to expand on the tight connections between the concepts of the different esoteric and astrological schools of the past and modern Astronomy, but the Cosmogony described by Serrano is quite relevant when compared to the quantic and cosmological theories developed today in all integrity by current searchers. Let’s also not forget that Serrano was an authentic “initiated” and his sincere relationship with India but also Catharism and Tantrism gives a certain charm to his work, a work absolutely sublime both from a literary and a doctrinal cosmogenesic point of view. I also really enjoy his unique “Jungian” approach to the U.F.O. phenomenon. I actually got quite upset the day I learned about his death and so I decided to dedicate a record to his memory. I wanted for a long time to declaim some of his texts in my music, so I selected a few and then proposed the idea to S. from Dronerune who I already collaborated with on “72 Candles In Cairo” and he agreed right away to record a split CD in homage to the last troubadour. My next split with Escadron de la Muerte, scheduled to release soon on UFA Muzak, is called “Batismo de Fuego: Le Dernier Bataillon”. It revolves around NeuSchwabenland and Nazi U.F.O.s and is also a tribute to Serrano.

Miguel Serrano

CwS: Did you see the movie Iron Sky? Maybe after all, the Nazis didn’t escape to Antarctica but went to the Moon?

BvS: I haven’t seen “Iron Sky” but both the trailer and the soundtrack set the bar really high, if only on a pure visual and esthetic level. I’ve kept an eye on the evolution of the project since its inception and I’m really looking forward to seeing the final result. The Thule and Ahnenerbe, or Black Order to make it short, were already featured in blockbusters like “Indiana Jones” and “Hellboy” but, as opposed to “Iron Sky”, they weren’t the protagonists. Besides, the promo stills are beautiful. To see the U.F.O.s of the Black Order in motion on the silver screen can only be a delight for anyone into martial industrial music and Nazi Mysteries. There’s also a cool movie with a “Steampunk” and “Pulp” vibe, not very well known, that came out a couple years ago which was somehow the prelude to “Iron Sky” and I want to recommend it to those who haven’t seen it yet: “Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow”. The images are full-on retro-futuristic and it even takes us to Shambhala!
Regarding a secret survival of Nazi U.F.O.’s battalions on the hidden side of our natural satellite and its exploitation in popular culture, I remember a very young me being already introduced to the concept of an Occult Organisation, archenemy of planet earth, a Black Order set up on the dark side of the Moon. It was in the Japanese anime Goldorak (UFO Robot Grendizer) and it obviously made a strong impression on me. Let’s also remember the existence of “L’empire des Cinq”, another Japanese anime airing when I was a kid subtitled “The Legend of the Lost Empire of Mu” which took its inspiration from ufology and theosophic themes with a hint of Mysterious Archeology and even references NS mythology and esoterism post-WWII. It follows the quest for an immemorial “Sacred Treasure” named Askadis, through titanic fights between Mechas and batallions of intraterrestrial U.F.O.s and—cherry on top—we even witness an occult alliance between the hidden survivers of the Nazi “Black Order” in South America and the Logors, the main villains, who are descendants of fallen Devas and Atlantes with a greenish skin living in the Shallow Earth under the reign of a “Lord of Fear”, another name for the “Lord of the World”. Their goal is to leave the subterrean world and invade Earth with the surviving S.S. divisions. A real delight!

CwS: Interesting how things from childhood can be determining…

BvS: Truth is, it came back to me when I discovered the mysteries of Nazi Ufology way later. But I wanted to mention these sometimes bizarre and entertaining animes that were on the tube in the 80’s, like the “Cités d’Or”. And there’s certainly, as you say, some more fiendish aspects that probably marked my subconscious more than others!
More seriously, I have a long running interest in U.F.O. mysteries and I’m passionate about the concept of secret Nazi bases in Antarctica, the theories of Shallow Earth, or Horbiger’s cosmogony—a great thinker and astrophysician to whom I already dedicated various tracks. Some articles I read about ufology did actually mention the presence of Nazis on the Moon and it’s also something you can find in the famous “Yellow Book”, if I’m not wrong. However, and even though theses theories are not unfounded, they’re not be taken too literally. “The Yellow Book” is the modern bible of “conspirationism” and the “Next Age”, just like the “Morning of the Magicians” was in its time, and you have to read between the lines. Quite a few chapters revolve around Nazi Mysteries and the Hollow Earth. All these pseudo-revelations are most of the time nothing but a myth, but, after all, is there not a part of truth behind every myth?
Alongside Nazi ufology, I’m also following closely the works of Richard Hoagland about the titanic artificial structures on the surface of both Mars and the Moon. Some information revealed in the book “Penetration” by Ingo Swann, recently published by Œil du Sphinx, shares many truths hidden by N.A.S.A. I’m actually dealing with all these topics in my side project Cydonia, and the theme of a lunar “plot” is the very inspiration behind the album title “Sinus Medii”, which is a region on the dark side of the Moon that supposedly shelters titanic artificial towers from another age. Naturally, I keep myself rather informed about everything related to all the recent official discoveries in Astronomy, Cosmology and Quantum Science. Just open any scientific magazine, and you’ll be amazed by what you can read about…

Going back to “Iron Sky” and because it is, first and foremost, “Cinema”, locating the Nazi base on the dark side of the Moon is rather interesting. It’s a subtle way to echo, in a “trompe l’oeil”, to the modern mythology of an occult survival of the Third Reich without however setting the action at the very heart of the mystery: Antarctica. It is from there and there only that the salvating Atavic powers of the End will rise again. In my eyes, it’s the most believable theory about the “real” survival of Nazi batallions. Wilhlem Landing’s books deal with this subject with quite some style, so I can only recommend them to committed readers who want to read on this topic in a serious and militant way. I will finally remind you again that this “hiero-history” concept about Hollow Earth, “NeueSchwabenland”, and Nazi secret weapons are themes of my next split with the Mexican band Escuadron de la Muerte called “Batismo de Fuego: Le Dernier Bataillon”, which should be out on UFA Muzak in the next months: a trip to the heart of the New Souab that all aficionados of Miguel Serrano and Nazi Ufology will, I’m sure, enjoy.

CwS: I read the “Yellow Book” years and years ago. A New-Age hippie living in the mountains gave it to me. Now that I think about it, despite the fact that this kind of book is successful among the not-so-bright New-Age community, the theories developed in these books are also quite popular in the U.S. hip-hop scene where the word “Illuminati” is dropped in nearly every song. So can we talk of a “Da Vinci Code” effect, just like there was, in a way, a “Morning of the Magicians” effect, that ultimately does more bad than good? What do you think of this outrageous popularization which always existed, sure, but is nowadays reinforced by the omnipresence of mass-media and consumerism?

BvS: The “Da Vinci Code” phenomenon, which shamelessly plagiarizes a lot of second-hand themes connected to the “Rennes Le Château” mystery, spawned a bunch of pseudo-esoteric thrillers involving Templars, Free-Masons, and even sometimes the Ahnenerbe (“The Charlemagne Prophecy” by Steve Berry). It’s most of the time a bad thing because readers usually don’t go any deeper and are satisfied with the entirely “fictitious” point of view of the author. And the same goes with the “New Age” books, terribly bad for the most part, and literally infesting bookstores’ shelves. So basically, the more it’s popularized and simplified, the more people like it, just like the “Conspirationism” theme in rap music today or movies like “Zeitgeist” which make amalgams between Gnostic, Nazis, Free-Masons, Sionists, Bankers and Annunakis, even Reptilians. People need supernatural and short pre-digested theories, empty of any “authentic spiritual teaching” in their lives, so as a result their imaginations take control of their minds and keep them away from the true esoteric knowledge on a more intellectual and metaphysical level. Of course, on the other hand, it is reassuring, as Tradition and real Gnosis are not for everyone and only a specific spiritual elite, authentically initiated, are worthy to be attached to the teachings emanating from the “Supreme Center”. René Guénon said: “the secrets of the pole are well kept”. And it’s not because you want to be a chosen one that you necessarily are.

CwS: So it seems that more than a collection of myths, Nazi Esoterism is also a very strong belief for some people. So where do you stand in Barbarossa Umtrunk? Mere subject of study or, like Serrano, true belief?

BvS: It is first and foremost a subject of study but with the full intention of detecting its secret arcanas and carefully avoiding “counter initiation” and fantastical temptations. It’s an esoteric realm I’ve been exploring for many years now without ever getting bored because of its richness and the fact that it actually originates from the Spring itself, the Polar and Hyperborean Tradition that the occult Nazis organisations were refering to to represent the very first manifestation circle, the Golden Age when Heaven was not lost yet.
This intention to re-integrate the primordial state of the Being, the God within, was explored by the “polar” ways and the high spheres of the N.S. and Aryanist Gnosis but not only… It’s a gnostic theme common to many other indo-european traditions, from which the more contemporary Nazi Esoterism actually drew a lot of its doctrinal inspiration. Regarding Hyperborean Tradition, the work of Evola is an essential Orientation axis for sincere searchers. And how could I not mention “The Crusade Against the Graal” and “The Court of Lucifer” by Otto Rahn, two masterpieces untouched by the passing of time.

In contemporary Nazi Esoterism the symbolic elements are extremely powerful, visually speaking, and explicitly evoke solar and viril archetypes that fall right into Evola’s legacy. It is, finally, nothing more than a modern and actualized version of the Kali Yuga end in the Kshatrya way, which always existed. Just like the fight the Reich fought temporally is a fight that had always been there, an archetypal fight. Their temporal defeat was only the prelude to a victory on a more spiritual level, when the Sleeping Emperor (whether it is Hitler or Barbarossa or Zalmoxis) will awaken in the West under the appearance of the White Horseman, named in different traditions as Kalki, Madhi, Saoshyant or simply the Lord of the World, and who will have the mission, at the end of times, to restore the Order and close, by doing so, our current manifestation Cycle.
When the ultimate reversal of the Poles will happen, then we will be able to proclaim once again, like at the dawn of time, “Ex Septentrione Lux”. We have the proof here that alchemical, anthropological, cosmogonic and eschatological symbols underlie the abundant egregore of N.S. gnosis (with the only condition to assimilate its “essence” and not getting tempted by these parodic counterfeits) and are an authentic manifestation, among others, of the superior and majestic principles of Primordial Tradition. This is why Miguel Serrano deserves the utmost respect: he was able to synthesize and revivify accurately, with a prophetical intituition, the Aryan, Polar and cosmic Gnosis to give us its essentials cosmogonic and theosophical keys. I strongly recommend that the profane who want to get an overview of these concepts and new mythologies, which are however finding their origins in the most ancient “Hyperborean” ferment, to read the book “Arktos” by Jocelyn Godwinn, simply the best and most exhaustive study on this subject to this day.

CwS: Ok. So you mention an archetypal fight referring to the Third Reich fight. What is this fight? The Third Reich is commonly seen as the worst dictatorship mankind has ever known which led to the extermination of millions of people. I assume you see things differently?
Do you have the intention, through Barbarossa Umtrunk, to rehabilitate Nazism or at least present Nazism on a para-historic level?

BvS: It is a fight for a legitimate imperial authority elected by the Heavens. It is the fight of the “Holy Empire”, the fight Kalki will lead at the end of Times, the fight for the reign to come of the order subordinated to the Supreme Center. This Fight, the Nazis tried to carry it through without succeeding. Temporarily, Nazism was a fight against the peril that was already weighing on Europe and who, nowadays, is pulling the strings of our international European policy. It was the last gasp before the end, waiting for the ultimate moment when the seven trumpets will rumble from above the skies. Through Barbarossa Umtrunk, I’m trying first and foremost to unveil some mysteries that History usually tries to hide. My aim is not to rehabilitate Nazism per say, but to present some of its unrecognized aspects. It’s then up to each to judge… I’m not doing any proselytising through my music, I only try to awaken some of my listeners by unveiling some mysterious arcanes of “Occult History” of mankind, and it’s up to them to go deeper on these topics as much as they want.

CwS: Beyond Nazi Esoterism, Barbarossa Umtrunk draws its inspiration from several aspects of the Tradition. And I think that’s what makes Barbarossa a remarkable band: this ability to revive tradition through its various influences. Can you explain to those who don’t know, what is the Tradition?

BvS: The Tradition defined by the “Traditional” or “Perennist” school is, to use Guénon’s description, the immutable heart of pure spirituality which presides over its different exterior cyclic manifestations. Analogically, the Tradition is represented by an almond or a nut whose pit symbolizes the esoterism residing at the very core of the shell, the shell symbolizing exoterism. According to Guénon, the different established traditions and religions that manifested throughout History all come from one unique and original source that was here from the start, even before Primordial Tradition: a supreme initiatory teaching symbolizing the Graal in its full meaning for which Agartha, the Center of the World, is in charge of its custody under the auspices of the Lord of the World who presides over the Occult Government of the World.

CwS: So actually Nazi Esoterism and Tradition are closely tied together, if I understand well, and if we look at History from an occult point of view, the Third Reich wanted to go back to this Primordial Tradition? Isn’t the Kabbalah the first of all Esoteric Traditions?

BvS: The Jewish Kabbalah is no way the first of Esoteric Traditions, it is only a specific revivification which actually developed quite late, although, I’ll give you this, its mythology and metahistory goes back to much more ancient times. But that’s also the case with all Esoteric Traditions. They all evoke a golden age when man was one with God and knowledge itself, so the Kabbalah of the Hebrews doesn’t have exclusivity on that matter, this is a common misconception. And actually the Runes have most certainly an even more ancient origin, testifying of an ancient Primordial Tradition now lost. The Nazis attempted, under certain aspects, to revive this Hyperborean Primordial Tradition by drawing from its source. The crypto-archaeologic work developed by the Aryosophist groups on one hand, and the Ahnenerbe on the other hand, are, in my opinion, totally worthwhile and comparable to the research conducted by the G.R.E.C.E. (editor’s note: Groupe de Recherche et d’Etude pour la Civilisation Européenne). There’s also a cool book written by the Spanish Traditionalist Ernesto Milâ, which deals with the antagonist elements that are at the same time traditional and counter-initiatory at the base of Nazi Esoterism. The Zohar as well as the Merkaba, or “Palace Litterature”, are nonetheless books of interest for those who are interested in anthropogenesis, Enochian angelology but also cosmogony and antediluvian times.

CwS: Tradition goes hand in hand with Initiation. How did you come to discover Tradition? Have you been initiated or is it the fruit of personal work? How does one walk a straight path in this occult labyrinth?

BvS: I first came to discover the fullness of its meaning through the writings of René Guénon, then through further readings about esoterism and occultism. The most important for any “truth seeker” out there is to never get lost in his peregrination and his most “interior” quest, by choosing carefully the ways he will decide to walk on this earthly life because whatever the ways we choose, we constantly walk on the razor’s edge. One needs to aquire a strong knowledge of the history of Secret Societies, their various ramifications and multifaceted trends, in order to avoid the pitfalls along the way and find the right orientation. I myself received in the past several authentic initiations, and tried a few things, though I can’t say I’m attached to any specific structure today. My spiritual orientation actually draws the foundation of its operative gnosis from illuminating literature, the likes of Jean Parvulesco, Gustav Meyrink, Miguel Serrano, Sohrawardi, Louis-Claude de St Martin and Raymond Abellio, whose books operate on the soul like an initiatory work of art. You just have to read “Le Visage Vert” by Meyrink to understand what I’m talking about. To emerge in oneself by secret techniques of palingenesis a transfigured “New Man”, so that the interior and reintegrative Being can arise on the outside, set free from the miasmas and iniquities of space and time—there lies the sense of my personal initiatory quest. These days, my spiritual research is more oriented on the operative processes I was able to decypher in my intensive reading of the work of Raymond Abellio, but also meditation through Runes as well as my study of hermetic sciences and in particular the ones linked to the underground and alchemic mysteries of the “Kabyres” Blacksmith Titans.

René Guénon

CwS: What aspects of Tradition, legends, historical characters, and esoteric doctrines have you not yet evoked in your work, but would like to approach in the near future? What about this record about General De Gaulle?

BvS: Like I said earlier, my next split with Escuadron De La Muerte will be focused on the myth of the Black Order occult centers located in Antarctica. On one of the tracks composed by Escadron De La Muerte, I recite passages of Reverend Père Martin, author of the controversial “La Boucane, ou le Renversement contre l’Ordre Noir”, and I also used speech samples of the militant writer Wilhem Landing. I also made a reference, through my side-project Cydonia, to the New Souab on the track closing the “Sinus Medii” album, a way of announcing the split with Escuadron De La Muerte.
There’s another and quite different upcoming split entitled “La Clairière des Eaux Mortes” with Pales Roses and Marc-Louis Questin which should be finalized soon. We wanted here to pay homage, in all their glory, to the novels of Raoul de Warren. Lastly, I should get started in the next couple of months on a collaboration with Schattenspiel and Verney 1826 about Count Dracula.
Regarding the album that was initially to be about De Gaulle, it’s already well in the works and I finally decided to broaden its thematics. It will definitely be named “La Fraternité Polaire” (and no longer “Les Compagnons Secrets”) in reference to the famous brotherhood, the said Polar Brotherhood by Zam Bhotiva and mostly to the Polar Order in its deepest and veiled meaning, invisible and imperial. Although I’m also making numerous references to De Gaulle and his “order of the 45″ mentioned by Jean Robin, Reverend Père Martin, and Jean Parvulesco. I also summon figures of the “Traditionalist” school and historians of “comparative religions” such as René Guénon, Mircea Eliade and Henry Corbin. Besides the participation of Schattenspiel on two old tracks, “Vive le Quebec Libre!” and “Les Noces Polaires”, which previously appeared on our split “La Couronne de Glace”, the German from Spreu & Weisen and the Argentinian from Vir Martialis are my “guests of honor” on several tracks.
The other releases are already planned: first of all, I decided to devote a complete trilogy to the Mysteries of Rennes-le-Château and the occult lineage of Merovingian Kings as well as this whole mythico-esoteric nebulah built over the years around this murky affair and this land I literally fell in love with. However, I will alternate the release of the “Castellrenniens” albums with other records with different topics of inspiration, although still faithful to the key concepts of Barbarossa Umtrunk.
I want to devote an entire album to Raymond Abellio, as well as put something together about the Marital Apparitions of Fatima and the “third secret” of Saint Lucia dos Santos, and even go back to the mythic times of the beginnings of the iron age to devote an album to the protohistoric Cimmeria of the anterior Celts.

CwS: I’d like to go back to “Rennes-le-Château”. We already mentioned the “Da Vinci Code” and to me the myths about Rennes-Le-Chatêau and the Priory of Sion only offer poor material: between the compulsive mythomaniac Pierre Plantard, (who entirely invented the “Secret files of Henri Lobineau”, and was pretending nothing less than to be a direct descendant of Christ and last representative of the Merovingian lineage), the frauds of the Abbé Saunière (who was surtaxing masses that he was giving to private audiences), and the confusing, poorly written literature by Tracy Twyman in Dagobert’s Revenge magazine… I mean, might as well release a record about the Order of the Solar Temple, no?

BvS: On the contrary, the frauds you are mentioning are wrong tracks among many others on the crooked path the searcher of “Castellrennais” mysteries is walking. There is certainly, behind the mythomania of Pierre Plantard and the hypothetical existence of the Priory of Sion, a much more unspeakable mystery and we are far from having found the truth about what lies behind the occult manipulations which fermented the myth of the Rennes Treasure when, at the end of the sixties, Gerard de Sede, manipulated by Plantard, unveiled to daylight the case of the “Billionaire Priest” and his cursed treasure. Among the abundant literature and the numerous extrapolations around this case, if one takes the time to study the subject in depth and knows how to tell the difference between the good and the bad seed, then the discovery of many very rich symbolic themes can be expected, Razès being a region charged with sacred History where the egregores are very powerful. In sum, in order to enjoy to its fair value the mysteries surrounding the church of Rennes-le-Château without being duped, it is essential to have the taste for rebus and investigation as well as a perfect knowledge of History and esoterism. I’d also like to clarify that there was never any mass traffic and it’s once again pure fabrication. Jean Robin’s books on the subject allow us to address this theme with an overview focusing on a “guenonian” interpretation of the phenomenon, and they are strongly recommended to those who want to seriously approach this investigation, a true initiatory investigation. On my three albums dealing with Rennes-le-Château, I actually didn’t plan to spend too much time on the “Plantard” case and I’d like to go back in time, evoke the key moments of the History of France and the invisible and secret Royal Power. Basically use Rennes-le-Château as a background to allow me to address the historical, esoteric and literary subjects attached to it: Volkes Tectosages, Wisigoths, Cathars, Templars, Parisian Secret Societies from the Belle Epoque, Rosicrucian and paramasonic rituals or the unveiling and typically French literature from Maurice Leblanc to Gaston Leroux, Maurice Barrès to Jules Verne, closely linked to the mystery of the Rennes Treasure.

CwS: Since we are talking about it, what are the main magical places in France? Is there still any place for Occult Traditions in France?

BvS: Aside from Rennes-le-Château, which is to me the true “invisible” Capital of France (we will also note that the Paris Meridia crosses the city), I have a deep interest in Sacred Geography across the globe and of course the Kingdom of France contains a lot of historical sites: the Razès, Verdon, Brocéliande, Montsegur, the Bribacte necropolis on Mount Beauvray, Chartres, Etretat or even Notre-Dame de Paris, which are all attached to the Supreme Center in the invisible world. How could we not also mention the typically French literature of Maurice Barrès, author of “La Colline Envoûtée” a novel closely linked to the Rennes-le-Château case, or Gaston Leroux who brilliantly addressed the “Agarthian” underground of Paris in the “Phantom of the Opera” and the “Mystery King”. And it’s not a coincidence that powerful egregores swarm on french soil: France is a magical and predestined place. It’s in France that the Great Monarch will appear, restoring the palingenesic and final “Regnum Sanctum” and there’s a strong chance that all the mysteries around Rennes-le-Château are linked to this prophecy. In the Rennes area, there’s the Mountain of Bugarach, a sacred and “polar” Mountain once compared to Agartha, backing this assertion by traditional studies, even though unfortunately this was later appropriated by “New Age” movements, illegitimately occupying its top and pathetically waiting for the events of December 21th 2012. Abellio warned us that at the end of times, false prophets will be legion, mocking the real Guides to come, still occulted to the world and the “Bugarach Phenomenon” is the proof.

Château de Montségur

CwS: René Guénon is one of the very first westerners who dedicated his work to Tradition, but, and as Jean Parvulesco said in “La Spirale Prophétique”, reading Guénon can lead to despair because of its lack of constructivism: René Guénon denies everything in our modern world without ever proposing an alternative or key. What do you think about this and how is it possible to live according to the Tradition in our modern world?

BvS: Reading Guénon has the advantage to bring a very strong and pure metaphysical base to the searcher and the original notion of Tradition and Symbolism. But at the end of the road, it’s true, the ones who want to fully live the “Tradition” in all its initiatory and transcending meaning don’t get any operative keys.
And that’s why I was able to find in the work advocated by Gurdjieff and Ouspensky, as well as Evola in “Ride The Tiger”, interesting theoretical and practical tracks to follow. Parvulesco’s books, and all the influences he includes in them, were also a very precious help in my spiritual quest. I’d like to also mention the writings of Henry Corbin, specialist of Iranian, Zoroastrian, Cathar and Templar gnosis. I was able, thanks to him, to discover the writings of the Iranian theosophist Sohrawardi and the Ismaili gnostic sect of the “Assassins”. I also assimilated to my personal mythology some precious “Cosmosophic” teachings of S.U. Zanne, who was the “Hierophant of the Royal Order of Melchisédech” around 1900. More recently it is the operative “New Gnosis” featured in the books by Raymond Abellio that is orienting my path and my personal esoteric practice, on the active level, just like on the contemplative level. Raymond Abellio proclaims: “The Gnosis is solar, viril, diurnal, apollonian, aristocratic. The mystic is, on the contrary, chthonic, feminine, nocturnal, dionysian, democratic”. He also says: “Here we stand at the time when a mankind that was passive for a long time under the teaching of its tutors really re-invents for itself what it was taught and transforms the learned reflexes in proper powers, so that, from this sacrifice, can arise a new mankind, gifted, through a global mutation, with new and powerful instincts”. The mystical way he advocates matches perfectly with my own current aspirations and mystical conceptions. This saying from Master Eckart: “It is not our actions that sanctify us, it’s ourselves who sanctify our actions” also matches with my idea of how to live “Tradition” in modern world. I’m trying, through an intensive intellectual meditation on the ways professed by Abellio, to operate this mutation within myself.

Raymond Abellio

Beyond my intensive reading of Abellio, I study practice and experiment a certain number of magic and ritual techniques like Tantrism, runic Yoga, Enochian magic and work on breath based on mantras, runes and the “Itlaq” technique borrowed from Turkish dervishes. The pamphlets by Bernard Fréon/René de Lhamort which deal with the alchemical ways of the Phoenix and the Black Sun can also deliver some very rich operative keys and theurgic methods for those who want, by an intern transmutation, to start within themselves the realization of the immortal glory body of the Black Sun. I also used several times for divinatory purposes the Oracle of Polar astral Force whose predictions are based on very complicated and annoying calculations, which actually gives this exercise a certain charm, and I also practiced by “myself” in the past the rituals published by Sebottendorf. I can’t wait to get started, just for fun, on the operative practice of the Great Magus Cabal, or “Zoroaster Telescope”, a theosophic book with a weird cabalistic and divinatory system written by Andrea de Nerciat, the author of “Diable au Corps”, whose German translation found a certain success in the aryosophist circles at the beginning of the past century. I’d like to finally add that the very minimum for whoever wants to study “Tradition” is to first and foremost study the sacred texts (Zohar, Bible, Koran, Baghavad-Gitâ, Râmâyana or Zend Avesta) in order to find out the hidden truths behind the words. It’s also important to assimilate Celtic and Nordic cosmology, stay informed of the content of Enochian literature and other Coptic, Essenian, Sethian or Sabeean gnostic apocryphes like the mandatory “Pistis Sophia”, and, in the last place, orient one’s attention to the ancient “Mysteries Rites” and the Wisdom of Hellenic Oracles.

CwS: It is obvious that Barbarossa Umtrunk is much more than a simple musical project: do you think, with time and experience, you’ll one day publish your doctrine through some other media?

BvS: I like when Art is approached in different mediums, this can only be an enriching experience. At the moment, music works perfectly for me as I don’t have the time and the means to develop Barbarossa Umtrunk in other aspects. My next step is to play live but I’d also like to collaborate with proper music video directors to illustrate my music or even write soundtracks for experimental short films with an esoteric edge. So if any videomakers who are reading this are interested…

CwS: I think it’s also important to talk a little more about Parvulesco… A very important part of Barbarossa Umtrunk and a quite unknown author I discovered through your band… What is your favorite Parvulesco book and how is he a major influence in your work?

BvS: “La Spirale Prophétique” is the work I would recommend to those who want to discover Parvulesco. If they like that one and want to go deeper in their research, then they can buy any of his books. Among his many novels, I have a soft spot for “L’Etoile de l’Empire Invisible” and “Bal Masqué à Genève” but all of his books, no matter how inflammatory they may be, are good and develop a very interesting operative solar and viril gnosis. I have used some parts of his books many times to put together my lyrics, as I always thought his prose and themes are symbiotic with the musical atmopsheres I create. And I’m also in total agreement with his metapolitical positions and his gnostic vision of the world. And using his texts to illustrate my music is also a way for me to make people aware of his work, far too unknown, and it looks like I’ve partly succeded in this. In that regard, I’d like to recommend to my listeners to take a look at the books of Jean Robin or Jean-Marc Tisserant who, in their respective works, have the perfect eye to unveil the obscure face of the tenebrous and nauseous counter-initiatic forces lurking in the shadows in these times of the End.

Raymond Abellio & Jean Parvulesco

CwS: Gurdjieff is also a major influence in Barbarossa Umtrunk. I discovered him when I was still quite young and even after all these years I was never able to read “Belezbuth Talks To His Grandson” in full. What is his influence in Barbarossa Umtrunk? What did his teachings, mixing all sorts of Traditions from Orphism to primitive Christianity bring you? And what do you have to say about his very controversial status? Some say he was nothing but a charlatan…

BvS: I discovered the tales of the Armenian magus Georges Ivanovitch Gurdjieff a few years ago by reading “Meeting with Remarkable Men” which, despite its goofy and eccentric tone, made a big impression on me. Then, I saw the Peter Bourke movie, a really beautiful adaptation of the book. After this, I also attempted to read “Belzebuth Talking to his Grandson” and to be quite honest with you, I couldn’t read it until the end either. But I enjoyed some parts of this book which should be read as a collection of far-fetched initiatory tales and wisdom parables, somewhere between fantasy and reality, a little like the “1001 Nights”.
G.I. Gurdjieff has a particular writing style that reveals his eccentric personality and can also be quite cheeky sometimes. He inherited the gift of storytelling and comedy from his family traditions. His ancestors were “Ashokhs”, local bards from the old days living between the Balkans and the Silk Road, and whose tradition is still alive today on the Altaic regions along the Syr-Daria River. He worked with his group of Truth Seekers on a method of harmonious development of Man, the “fourth way”, which is the way of the “Crafty Man”, the one Ouspensky later developed in “Fragments of an Unknown Teaching”. The astonishing Mr. Gurdjieff has also revealed to the West the secrets of the Enneagram, the science of the 9-pointed figure from the fathers of the desert, which is, according to Oscar Ichazo, “a science of human development”.

Enneagram

This symbolic geometric figure is the key to a knowledge developed within a series of nine wisdom typologies which were each perverted as many soul diseases. The Enneagram is a psychological and pedalogical tool very interesting to use in our times, first to know oneself and then to know the others to the deepest core of their “Being”. But going back to the narration of “Meetings with Remarkable Men”, what I enjoyed in the book was the discovery of all these fascinating mystical brotherhoods from Central Asia, from the Altaï Mount to the Caucasus: the Yazawis, parents to the Bektashis we already mentioned regarding Sebottendorf; the Yezedis, commonly named as “the Devil worshippers” who praise Melek-Tawus/Lucifer; the Ismaili Nusayris/Hashishins, descended from Hassan I Sabbah; the mysterious Ahl-e-Haqq, these “Faithful of Truth”, living secretly at Mount Elbrouz and who are said to be descended from Azazel himself. Mr Gurdieff exposes us with undeniable talent to the misadventures of his youth, in the land he grew up, surrounded by caves and underground galleries around the Syr-Daria river, anciently named “Oxus” and a possible location of Shambhala according to Alexandra David-Neel and Rudolf Steiner. This allusion to Sacred Geography and Shambhala is odd when we think about all the special attention Gurdjieff was giving to the mysterious “Sarmong Brotherhood”, from which he supposedly received a fair amount of his knowledge (parable in his words of the “Grand White Lodge” of the Theosophists, Agartha and Shambhala, heiress, according to him, of the ancient wisdom of antediluvian times, “the flood before the flood”, owned by the high initiates of a brotherhood named “Imastum”). We also note that, through his eventful life, he apparently got in touch with ascetic Sages from Mount Athos as well as various dervish brotherhoods such as “Yasawis” and “Naqshbandis” in the Turkish world.

Georges Ivanovitch Gurdjieff

His misadventures in France, at the Fontainebleau-Avon monastery (which, for the record, was one of the few “Occult” and “Spiritual” orders still open under German Occupation)—and I mean by his misadventures the case which held him responsible for the suicide of Katherine Mansfiled—are more affiliated to gossip than any objective take on his character. There were even people to say that because of his, to quote them, “vampiric” grasp on his disciples, he succeeded in choking the creative impulse of the musician De Harttman, although no one could argue the obvious quality of his close collaboration with Mr Gurdjieff. And without Gurdjieff would we have ever had the chance to see, on French soil, sincere and gifted spiritualists and orientalists such as Arnaud Desjardin and many other celebrities who came by the Avon Monastery? Yes, of course, Guénon was suspicious towards Mr Gurdjieff, just like he was with the Blavatsky Theosophic Society, but Evola on his side was rather positive about him. Allow me to quote Evola here. His analysis of the Gurdjieff phenomenon perfectly captures the powerful potential of the “Crafty Man” despite the intense self-sacrifice that one must go through to access to the Awakening and set himself free from any exterior influences. Julius Evola tells us:
“What was Gurdjieff’s message ? A rather confusing message we must say. Few men “exist”, few men have an “immortal” soul. Some of them have the germ, which can be developed. In general, one doesn’t possess a “self” at birth, it has to be gained. The ones who don’t succeed just vanish when death comes. Only very few of them were able to gain a soul. The average man is nothing but a machine. He lives in slumber, like hypnotized. He might believe he acts or thinks, but truth is he is “acted”. His so-called actions are only impulses, reflexes, influences from the outside acting on him. He doesn’t have a “self”. Gurdjieff’s ways were all but delicate: ‘You not understand, you total idiot, you shit’, he was often saying in is bad French to people approaching him. About Katherine Mansfield, who died during a stay in his hermitage at the Avon priory, Gurdjieff once said : ‘Me don’t know’, meaning here that the deceased was nothing, she simply doesn’t “exist”… So it’s not a surprise if some of Gurdjieff’s followers melt down in an extremely serious crisis, upsetting their mental balance so much they had to run away or else remember in terror experiences where they had this overwhelming feeling of dying. But those who passed the test and persisted in their “work on self” by his side, those talk about an incomparable feeling of safety and a new meaning given to their lives.”
But also: “Gurdjieff was content with a couple hours of sleep a night, he was called: “the one who doesn’t sleep”. He was alternating a spartan lifestyle with banquets of a long gone Oriento-Russian opulence. In 1934 he got injured in a very bad automobile accident: he stayed three days in a coma but regained consciouness right away and even looked younger, as if the physical shock, instead of injuring his organism, actually galvanized his body”.
It won’t be a surprise for anyone that I appreciate Evola’s take on Gurdjieff and the positive potential of awakening methods he was teaching in his doctrine.

George Ivanovitch Gurdjieff

CwS: Yes, I have to admit that reading Gurdjieff has a profound effect on the psyche so I can’t even imagine what it must have been like to be by his side. But like all great thinkers, the character itself is as much interesting as the teaching, if not more (editor’s note: we recommend the book “Mr. Gurdjieff” by Louis Pauwels on that matter). Although I’m sure Gurdjieff was the keeper of an “unknown teaching” as well as a great story teller and a highly charismatic individual, I think he couldn’t help himself in abusing some of the disciples who were blindly following him… which is ultimately a very human thing. So I’m asking you: does any spiritual power one can have on other people systematically come with abuse of some sort?

BvS: Well, a master who lets himself get carried away by such things is actually no longer a master since he remained attached to typically human and material interests. Therefore, he becomes a charlatan, a “guru” to use the modern terminology. But as I already mentioned above, the Gurdjieff case is a tiny bit more complicated. This kind of manipulation of individuals is a very common thing in modern cults and the most closed circles of “counter-initiation” where “fake” spiritual masters vampirize the psyches of their disciples blinded by the rhetoric and the only apparent charisma of the secret pseudo-teachings revealed.

CwS: What are, according to you, the 5 definitive books for a neophyte who would like to start studying “Tradition”?

BvS: Your question is not easy and demanded a hard selection of only five essential books among the multiple books written on that topic and worth studying. I finally selected the books that are, I think, the most adequate for a good start in the study of Tradition:

CwS: Barbarossa is officially apolotical, however it looks clear that the band leans towards the nationalist, anti-sionist and anti-masonic right. Do these political convictions go hand in hand with the study of Tradition? What is your take on the current geopolitical situation? Do you think the Kali Yuga age is coming to term?

BvS: The idea of Tradition obviously goes together with the respect of hierarchy, Order in its most noble and purest sense. But since Tradition is hierarchically above politics, it is detached from it and stands way beyond the left wing/right wing political antagonisms. However, Tradition can absolutely be in close correlation with meta-political revolutionary or reactionnary values oriented in a traditional way. As an example, the works of Julius Evola and Oswald Spengler have many things in common and they actually complement each other. It’s also this alliance of the “spiritual” and the “temporal”, represented by the Holy Empire and embodied in Ghibbelin ideology. Traditionalists or searchers in esoterism of Primordial Tradition and the Perenist School usually evolve in conservative but also revolutionnary political spheres without any clear distinction! The “apolotical” statement comes from the days G.C. was still part of the band. Since then, I’ve clearly affirmed, through past interviews, my affinities to radical right ideologies without however promoting any official political party. This said, I’m not denying my support of the French N.R. circles, my interest in the Nouvelle Droite or Dugin Eurasism. Lastly, I’d like to send a personal greeting to the P.S.F. militants who are, to me, the last real “socialists” in its noble sense and deserve our support.

CwS: A little clarification here: when you say N.R., are you talking Nationalist Radicals? P.S.F.? I believe you are not talking about the French socialist party? And what is your view on the situation in Syria?

BvS: I was talking about the Nationalist Revolutionaries and P.S.F. stands for “Parti Solidaire Français”, a young socialist and nationalist movement previously named “Droite Socialiste”.
The situation in Syria speaks for itself: it’s the same story over and over again. The Islamist scourge operated by the USIsrael, allied with Qatar, is trying to choke Syria simply because Bachar-Al-Bassead is still part of the non-aligned who still resist the New World Order. The French media traitors, the abject humanitarian organisations like “Médecins sans Frontières” and mostly our state leaders are, in reality, scumbags who are mocking us and prove once again their hypocrisy. Just take a look at the latest bullshit slogan of the “red” hipster militants of the N.P.A., spread all over the walls of Paris: “Bachar get out”. It made me want to throw up…
But let me go back to your first question: regarding the current state of Kali-Yuga, on a strictly spiritual level we can only find nowadays fake “gurus”, parodies of prophets and hierophants from the past and to come. Pseudo “New-Age” gurus, who badly digested Blavatsky Theosophy and use as if it were the gospel, books by Mikhael Aivanhow, Edgar Cayce, and other charlatans from ambient esoterism, are abusing weak souls and spreading like cockroaches. We are in the age of multiplicity and this age is about to reach its paroxism. There are no more true guides, no more authentic ways, no more worthy initiation. Maybe because it’s no longer the time, and we’ve already reached the end of a Great Cosmic Cycle. We’re now standing at the edge of a new cycle to come and the transitition from one cycle to another might be quite hard indeed. It is said that the Great Monarch, the Saoshyant, Kalki, the Madhi or XIIth Imam, this White Horseman, chief of the defector army of the Lord of the World, will arise from Shambhala/Qaf at the end of times to fight Iniquity and restore Order, and will be of the Kshatryas clan.

Raymond Abellio / Vers un nouveau Prophétisme

Raymond Abellio, in his book “Vers un Nouveau Prophétisme”, developed the idea of a new, tranfigured, polar man, beyond good and evil and any antagonism, a man rooted in action but detached from its fruits. A man, to paraphrase Evola, “standing among the ruins”. It’s this new breed of transfigured man, the pacified warrior, who will guard the spirtitual Graal in these diluvian times, waiting for the return of the Great Times, the Apokatastasis, when the authentic prophets will (re)appear and guide the post-diluvian survivors as dawn succeeds the Twilight of the Gods. This Twilight of the Gods that mankind is living right now, without being aware of it, is soon coming to its final chapter, the appalling reversal of poles which should be here anytime.
The Apocalypse has already started, the 21st of December 2012 is only a parable. We’ve already entered the era of the great Cosmic Winter solstice of the end, or maybe it’s the cosmic Walpurgis Night that Gustav Meyrink brillantly evoked in his book of the same name: “Every year, on april 30th, the Walpurgis Night comes back. On this night, according to popular belief, the ghost people are freed from their chains. There are also cosmic Walpurgis Nights. Excellence! They are too far apart for mankind to remember, and that’s the reason why they are always considered as a new phenomenon, never experienced before. A new cosmic Walpurgis Night is coming”.

So April 30th or December 21st ? It doesn’t matter, because iniquity is already queen in a modern world infected to the bone. In these dark ages to come it will no longer be a question of politics, and it’s already actually less and less the case because the end is inevitable. Just take a look at the hypocrisy regarding this “illusory” Economic Crisis, entirely made up and which is subversively taking us down into a fall with no return. Take a look at the solar storms, always stonger and stronger, who could, at any minute, cause a worldwide “black-out” and disasters of dramatic consequences. Civil war is also on the verge of bursting and, in these moments, the essential and crucial question coming to my mind is the one of “survivalism”, because today is all about getting ready for the worst. The B.A.D. concept elaborated by Serge Ayoub, Michel Drac and M.Thibaud, the book “Survivre à l’Effondrement Economique” by Piero San Giorgio are, in that respect, weapons of salvation, a light of hope so the Guardians can remain “standing among the ruins” and watch after the Graal in the final night to come. The end is near, tomorow will be the Age of the Wolves! And we now have to get ready for it…

CwS: In that regard, it’s also interesting to note that from Aleister Crowley to Gurdjieff but also, of course, the Baron Von Sebottendorf, numerous occult characters of the twentieth century were closely connected to secret services… Can we talk of an occult version of History ignored by the masses? Can we deduct that civilizations come and go along much more occult lines than it appears at first sight, and an invisible History evolves in parallel?

BvS: Yes, exactly! Jean Marques Rivière, eminent orientalist, tantric specialist and chief of the Secret Police under the Collaboration who also belonged for a while to the “Polar Society” once said: “The esoterists, by their power of action on ideological levels, are leading the world”.
Pierre Mariel was also abounding in that sense: “Truth is, since forever and today more than ever- secret societies rule the world”.
In the foreword of his book “Le Véritable Secret des Rois de France”, Arnaud de l’Estoile expresses in these terms (describing quite well this notion of an invisible History, a “meso-history”, itself coming from a “hiero-history” to which the “meso-history” is subjected, and where mysterious synarchic brotherhoods pull the strings in the dark):
“There’s a nocturnal side, a really shady part of human history. This “third History” is a secret History which doesn’t have any official pulpit and is nowhere to be taught. Indeed, the revealed History and critical History have their limits, enough to leave space to this “third History”, the hidden History. This History, some kind of Jacob’s Ladder, goes from exoteric to esoteric, across the mesoteric, which is, according to Gurdjieff, the middle term between exoteric and esoteric.”
I won’t expand on the “Protocol of the Elders of Sion”, this fake which according to Evola is nevertheless of authentic origins, and therefore deserves a certain credit. I won’t expand either on the “7 Têtes du Dragon Vert” by Pierre Mariel or others like “72″, which, as far as they are concerned, have more to do with myth and “conspirationist” propaganda than reality. However, from the Lizard Society to Illuminatis, from the Synarchists to the Thule Society, we cannot deny that many active Secret Societies acted in the dark and sometimes even competed throughout History to obtain the reins of “temporal” power. But let’s not forget that on the level of principles, the only authentic power is the Occult Government of the World, established in the heart of the initiatic Supreme Center named Agartha, located in the “Center of the Earth” and ruled by the Lord of the World.

For there is, Traditionally, and to quote Sanskrit terminology, no other legitimate royal authority than the “Manu” of our cycle, watching and reigning invisibly over the world until the end of our own occultation cycle. Many ancient traditions, but also more contemporary ones, mention the “Invisible College” of the Rosicrucian brothers, the “Council of the Nine” or the “Great White Lodge” of the Masters of Wisdom from central Asia. They all have the same legislative function. On the other side of the spectrum, how could we not evoke this inverted counterfeit, this “black” Agharta mentioned by Jean-Paul Bourre in his books about vampirism, or, to be even more accurate, how could we not think about these “Seven Towers of the Devil”, the occult center of evil on earth about which René Guenon seemed to be so well informed (editor’s note: there are apparently Seven Towers of the Devil in the world, which, when pinpointed on a map, reveal the figure of the Constellation of Orion). This idea of a parodic counterfeit in “reverse” of the Agartha and the “Lord of the World” myth, who in this case becomes “The Prince of the World”, Satan, allows us to get a better understanding of the inspirational source of our corrupted governments, who wrongfully think they have the real Spiritual and Temporal Authority when in reality they are abusively mocking it. Modern technocrats are only “Maroutes” teleguided and controlled by the invisible powers of counter-initiation, they are nothing more than black Wizards of modern days without even knowing it, although they use, in all “consciousness”, new metapsychical techniques to manipulate and stupefy the masses. Abellio used to say that the modern European Technocrat will be the initiator of new forms of domination to take place in the USA at the end of prediluvian times. All this leads us to think that the age of Wizards is not entirely behind us and the masses have become the scope of a fascinating “High Black Magic” practice which gradually turns them into soulless cattle.
These synarchist technocrats go against the very principles of the original synarchy by St. Yves d’Alveydre, who considered the creation of an “ideal human government”, from which universal power could be provided by an authentic Pope, holder of the spiritual and temporal authority, attached to the Supreme Center. These modern days black technocrats are dwelling in the shadows of what the “conspirationist” subculture defines as the famous denominational “Illuminatis”. We can witness today a complete diversion of the original concept of “Synarchy” and of the Empire Synarchic Movement, scrupulously and thoroughly operated by the circles of High Finance. We’re aware of the occult grasp and influence exercised by the hidden evil activities of the “official” Freemasonry and numerous other oligarchic and counter-initiatory organizations like “Skull & Bones”, “Junkers”, “Bilderbergs” and other “Dinner of the Century”, illegitimately trying without any shame to appropriate for themselves the control of “occult” power over the world. These Secret Societies, who are without remorse, and the pole of influences they serve, are however only a parody of the true Agarthian core: immutable, impregnable and inaccessible to the profane and counter-initiated of their kind.

Since the dawn of time, organizations lurking in the shadows have attempted to pull the strings of the world’s destiny, in a legitimate or illegitimate way. Simply take a look at the occult and meta-political actions of the Templars and the Assassins at the time of the crusades to convince yourself. The Secret Societies played an obvious part, from the West to the Far East, from the Rosicrucian to the Triads, from the Freemasonry to the Sufi Orders and History has never stopped to absorb the influence and the occult infiltration exercised by these organizations upon the power in place. Nowadays, these societies, dwelling in the shadows, have often been mixed with secret services. If we take a look at the Israeli side for instance, the B’nai B’rith are the very incarnation of this conjunction and the Mossad have sometimes showed interest in subjects far less materialistic than one would think, like the search for the Arch of Alliance and Solomon’s treasure which, supposedly, grant temporal and spiritual power to the one who owns it. Curiously, this research led them to Rennes-le-Chateau, where it looks like various ultra-secret and antagonistic organizations fight in the shadows to obtain the “Spiritual Stack” located there. Crowley, Gurdjieff, and Sebottendorf were double agents themselves, just like the strange Georges Monti who pushed it to even be a triple agent! Raymond Abellio, who knew perfectly the mechanisms of the occult power behind the scenes (he was connected to “La Cagoule” before becoming the occult counselor of president François Mitterand during his first term), was also able to get over the antagonisms in his past of being a political and occult militant.
To conclude on the current worldwide situation on the edge of the abyss, I’d like to promote Alain Soral and his movement “Egalité & Réconciliation”, close to the N.R.. His book “Comprendre l’Empire” is an essential tool to get a good idea of the intentions of both antagonistic poles
who are fighting today for the world’s fate, the current geopolitical issues, and the consequences to come.

CwS: Let’s go back to the music… You mentioned earlier that your next step is to play live and I also read that you’d like to form a real band and do something more organic. Is that something we can expect soon?

BvS: Yes, it is indeed one of my wishes. But this new formula might take some time to get together, as I now have the habit of working by myself in the studio. I’ve already planned to have a guitarist friend of mine play on my upcoming material as soon as we both find the time. At the moment nothing has been started, but this next step, once we get there, might have a more “Doom” or “Krautrock” approach to the sound. I want to bring new vibrations, more organic yes, but still monolithic, martial and transcendental, to my music. But keep in mind the atmosphere will remain “pure” Barbarossa and many parts will keep evolving in the same vein as they are now. I simply want to widen my sound palette by bringing in more organic sonorities, and thus get myself ready for powerful live shows in the years to come. I’ve received quite a few offers from labels and bookers but it will take a little more time before you’ll be able to see Barbarossa Umtrunk on stage.

CwS: A series of shows on sacred locations would be amazing! How do you see a Barbarossa Umtrunk show? How do you envision it?

BvS: The shows to come will be ritualized ceremonies where we’ll put the accent on stage play and the whole multimedia aspect. These sacred places we evoked earlier would indeed be the ideal places to perform in the open air and this is an idea I’ll keep in mind! What would be interesting is to play live during solstices in the heart of Cromlech forest, regular shows turning into fires of joy and pagan ceremonies.

CwS: Are you happy with UFA Muzak? Do you think you’ll keep going with this label?

BvS: UFA Muzak is my favorite label and I’m more than satisfied with them. I’m totally addicted to Nickolay B.’s (editor’s note: owner of the label) artwork and its whole aesthetic which, from the packaging to the cover, embellishes each of their releases. The bands signed on the label are all great and aren’t afraid to be engaged! The themes I’m dealing with, and even more specifically when I’m dealing with Nazi Esoterism, match perfectly with the label’s aspirations.
I’ve signed a number of productions with UFA Muzak and, even though I’m also bound to other labels like Twilight Records or Urkraft, where my next albums will be released, I still want to keep going with UFA Muzak. My split with Escuadron de la Muerte to come will actually be released by UFA Muzak in the next couple months.

CwS: How do you work with Nickolay B. when it comes to artwork? Do you give him carte blanche or is it a real exchange of ideas?

BvS: There’s a real exchange in the sense that I give him a number of keys evoked in my music and I orient him to specific visual and graphic tracks I have in mind. Then, he has carte blanche and I’m never disappointed. I’d even say I’m quite often pleasantly surprised by the accuracy with which he is able to visually capture the evoked themes. Nickolay Busov is by far the best designer in the scene! It’s an honor for me to work with him.

CwS: Can you give us more info on your new side-project Cydonia?

BvS: I have always been fond of dark ambient music, and at first Cydonia was the incarnation of my need to create a different music, more minimalistic and without any vocals. I also originally wanted to bring a very telluric doom/drone feel to it, which I thought would blend well with other typically ambient pieces in the tradition of Inade or Raison d’Etre. Most tracks use as a sonic background an impressive number of spatial sounds loops, sonars and pulsars reworked and “transformed” onto which I add my own musical parts. I have a passion for scholarly Astronomy and advanced quantum Cosmology (Marc Lachière-Rey, Jean Pierre Luminet, Stephen Hawking, Brian Greene…) but also for more marginal, parallel scholarly writings such as the ones by Dr. Victor Clube and Bill Napier, Robert Bauval, Graham Hancock, Velikovski or the S.F. sphere with “Hard Science” novels by Arthur C. Clarke and Stephen Baxter… without forgetting to mention the neo-evhemerism theories from ufologic circles.

By choosing this name, Cydonia, I wanted to refer to the “Cydonia Mensae” region on Mars where the pictures taken by the sonars Viking 1 and 2 in 1976 caused a huge stir, as the public discovered for the first time the mysterious “face of Mars”. If the theories of the belt of Orion, the imminent return of Nibiru and if the question of Unknown Superiors from the Sirius Constellation speak to those who are reading this, I invite them to give an an ear to this new project for which I planned to invest myself as intensely as I’ve been invested with Barbarossa Umtrunk. The first album, “Sinus Medii”, just came out on SkullLine and the following should be out soon on the francophone netlabel Cyanure Prod. In fact, Cydonia is the evolution of some of the work I had already started on some parts of “Distant Shores”. It’s the hidden side of Barbarossa Umtrunk if you want, its exile and ascent towards unknown spheres and oriented moods that keep getting more cosmic and dark. With Cydonia, I take a different approach to the music, far less martial, which ultimately gives me the opportunity to develop new writing techniques on a more contemplative level.

CwS: On top of this, you are also releasing a new collaboration with “Front Sonore”. What can we expect of this new record?

BvS: When we released our first split “Le Siècle des Grand Abattoirs”, we had planned with Front Sonore to recreate the experience and release a chapter two. The plan was to deal with more contemporary topics with new eyes, engaged and at war against Atlantist neo-imperialism and the Sionist entity. We talked about it again over the various topics, taken from the news for the most part, which would later be developed for the record. “Apokatastasis” proposes, through the tight connection between our respective tracks, the thread of a visible and invisible agonizing History.
So this second collaboration was built in total symbiosis and the final result of this new alliance appears to be quite solid. We also decided to please ourselves and join our forces for a cover of “C’est un Rêve” by Death In June which will, I’m sure, make some people smile just like it will also make a lot of people cringe! I’m really proud of this record and of my collaboration with Front Sonore won’t stop anytime soon. The project of creating an artistic and musical collective, headed by our two respective projects, is actually in the works…

CwS: You mentioned throughout this interview an important number of upcoming releases as well as many books. Where do you find all this time? And where would you like to bring Barbarossa Umtrunk? Would it be a problem for you if the band got a bigger exposure, in spite of the themes evoked in your music?

BvS: I’ve unveiled many personal influences throughout this interview, though I won’t do it again anytime soon, but the questions were calling for these answers. I like to give the listeners the possibility to deepen, or not, each subject if they feel like doing it and I want in no way to do all the work for them. It would simply take away all the satisfaction and the beauty that overflows from the discovery of all these mysteries for those who “seek” by themselves. To each his own way according to what the heart dictates… This said, with time, I’d like to make my music more accessible as well as a little less “elitist” without however stopping to evoke very specific and deliberately oriented mysteries and arcanes.

CwS: Do you feel close to the martial industrial scene? I tend to think that most bands are doing what Der Blutharsch was doing 15 years ago… What do you think? Who are, in your eyes, the valuable bands to support today?

BvS: Even though I’ve been sometimes described as a musical U.F.O. in the martial industrial scene by goth journalists, I feel like I totally belong to this artistic movement and I’m proud to represent, along with some of my confreres and collaborators, the new generation of French bands. I think the most talented and active bands of the moment are: Allerseelen, Horoliogum, Golgotha, Der Blaue Reiter, L’Horrible Passion, Die Weisse Rose, Ianva, Wermut, Ryr, Sturmast, Luftwaffe, and Dawn & Dusk Entwined. Without forgetting of course Von Thronstahl, who are, from a militant point of view, the best band with the most integrity. I’m still very attached to the bands who started the trend about ten years ago: Blood Axis, Ataraxia, Der Blutharsch, Tribe of Circle, Skroll, ISN, LJDLP, Camerata Mediolanense, Toroidh, Sophia, Karjallan Sissit, and even Puissance—I never grow tired of listening to them. Alas, new bands have a tendency to copy each other and fall too often in the militaristic cliché, and that’s too bad. I systematically bring a “ritual” vibe on my most epic tracks. I’ve chosen to illustrate metahistorical concepts, show the occult connections between politics and secret societies in History by unveiling the Isis veil of a different History, the one walking in the shadows. The opening to the East also contributes to this will of erasing borders. Traditional and Esoteric Themes attached to an occult and secret History are ultimately an excellent means to transcend martial industrial music. The Rosicrucian Joséphin Péladan, for whom I have a lot of respect, proclaimed that artistic evolution is never detached from doctrines, for ideas incarnate into forms by a mysterious link and, still according to him, the History of the Arts will one day be the Great History.
The War of Heavens has begun and that’s what’s coming next in the Future of mankind. It’s our duty to step up to the avant-garde of the approaching Dark Ages.

CwS: By the way, I understand that the name Barbarossa Umtrunk comes from a German liquor. So have you ever drank some Barbarossa Umtrunk?

BvS: No, but I would love to taste it one day. Despite my numerous pilgrimages to sacred spaces over all these years, I’ve unfortunately never been to Kyffhauser. I actually only know the place through articles and pictures. Using the name of the liquor was as much a mention of the liquor itself, but also a celebration of this Supreme Center, the Nemeton of Sacred Geography, immemorial spiritual core where the legend tells us the Germanic Emperor lies asleep in slumber at the heart of the moutain. There couldn’t be any better name to describe my musical project.

CwS: Well thank you, the last words are yours!

BvS: Thank you for all your very enriching questions. I sincerely hope my answers weren’t too long. To finish this interview I’d like to quote Abellio one last time:

“Our time welcomes too well, whatever they say, the black poets, so they can’t be anything but essential to it. For the great transmutation in which it will take place demands, just before the trial by fire, that its matter reaches the last degree of intimate corruption, what alchemy names for a reason the absolute darkness”.

And I will end on this: “The sin was to eat the fruit, the deliverance will come by creating the germ”.

Baron von S: Barbarossa Umtrunk se veut l’expression de mes préoccupations d’ordre mythique, historique, politique et ésotérique. La musique mêle des samples de musique ethnique, tribale et chamanique d’Orient et d’Occident, à des orchestrations martiales apocalyptiques et des soundscapes rituels conçus à base de boucles ambient et post-industrielles hypnotiques. J’essaie, en somme, d’apporter une dimension tout à la fois épique et contemplative à ma musique. Les vocaux en français, et les textes qu’ils déclament, tiennent aussi un rôle non négligeable dans l’élaboration de mes disques, toujours très fidèles et rigoureux quant au concept métaphysique global qu’ils servent.

CwS: Quel est votre parcours musical avant Barbarossa Umtrunk? Quels sont vos premiers souvenirs musicaux et comment en êtes vous venu à la musique industrielle?

BvS: Mes premiers amours musicaux remontent à l’adolescence au beau milieu des années 90, lorsque j’ai découvert pour la première fois des groupes “corbeaux”, indus et gothiques comme Dead Can Dance, Killing Joke, NIN, Bauhaus, Christian Death, Virgin Prunes, ITN, The Cranes, Collection d’Arnell-Andrea, Cocteau Twins, Norma Loy, Die Form, Calva y Nada, Dive, Einstürzende Neubauten, Savage Republic pour ne citer que ceux qui me viennent spontanément à l’esprit… Puis j’ai très vite été marqué par la folk apocalyptique et la musique industrielle: Laibach, SPK, Psychic TV, Current 93, Coil, Death in June, 6th Comm, Sol Invictus, Ataraxia ou encore Test Dept, NON, Brighter Death Now, Melek-Tha, In Slaughter Natives, Aghast, Scorn, Neurosis, Hybrids, Runes Order et toute l’école Cold Meat Industry qui m’ont tous plus ou moins inspiré et m’ont donné envie de faire de la musique. C’est à la même époque que déferlait la scène black-metal Norvégienne à laquelle je me suis aussi intéressé, bien que je n’avais jusqu’alors jamais trop apprécié le metal si l’on excepte le doom et le sludge. Mais la plus grosse claque de cette fin des années 90 fut pour moi Der Blutharsch et Blood Axis qui ont su revivifier, en leur temps, le genre dark-folk et qui m’ont vraiment donné envie d’évoluer dans leur sens et m’investir dans cette scène alors encore toute jeune. Sur le plan créatif, avant de lancer Barbarossa Umtrunk, si l’on excepte des expérimentations a base de synthés analogiques et de collages sonores que j’ai pu enregistrer en pure autodidacte, je n’avais rien produit de réellement concret mis à part ma participation en tant que claviériste qui resta très brève au sein d’un groupe de black-metal occulte local monté par un groupe d’amis et très accès sur la “magick” de la voie de la main gauche. Mon idée de développer quelque chose de plus personnel se concrétisa lorsque je rencontrais Ra-Kha. Les premiers pas de Barbarossa Umtrunk furent le fruit de notre étroite collaboration. Puis en 2005, on a tenté de monter un groupe avec un vrai line-up mais ça n’a pas marché et le groupe a splitté juste après avoir figuré sur le mythique “Scontrum Act V” chez WOP et avoir produit le morceau “Ungern Khan”. J’ai fait une pause d’un an puis j’ai décidé de relancer Barbarossa Umtrunk avec le soutien de G.C. qui avait participé aux anciennes sessions. Entre 2008 et 2009, Barbarossa Umtrunk refaisait surface et nous sortions nos deux démos “Regnum Sanctum” et “Glazialkosmogonie” chez SkullLine.

CwS: Votre nouvel album “Der Talisman des Rozenkreuzers” est consacré au Baron Rudolf Von Sebonttendorf. Mais qui était donc ce mystérieux personnage et pourquoi avoir décidé de lui consacrer un album?

BvS: J’ai lu de nombreux ouvrages sur la Société Thulé (note de l’éditeur: nous allons rapidement voir le lien entre Sebottendorf et la Thulé) et dès les débuts de Barbarossa Umtrunk, nous nous étions mis en tête avec Ra Kha d’opérer un jour sur scène les rituels de la Thulé. Le livre de Jean Mabire que je ne me lasse jamais de relire a été une grande influence mais ce n’est pas le seul, il y a entre autres “Hitler et la Tradition Cathare” de J.M. Angebert et surtout un ouvrage plus dur à dénicher: “Hitler, L’élu du Dragon” de Jean Robin. Plus proche de nous, le petit opuscule de David Owen, “Une Société Secrète à l’origine du Nazisme” qui nous livre de nouvelles révélations sur le Baron Sebottendorf et aussi un article très enrichissant de Thierry Zarcone sur les sources soufis du “Die Praxis der Alten Türkischen Freimaurerei” (note de l’éditeur: un ouvrage écrit par Sebottendorf) sont autant d’ouvrages qui m’ont poussés à monter ce projet d’album.

Jean Mabire / Thulé, le Soleil retrouvé des Hyperboréens

Il y a quelques années de cela je me suis moi-même beaucoup intéressé au Soufisme, qui est l’ésotérisme de l’Islam “intérieur”, celui du coeur, à l’opposé même de l’Islam moderne extérieur, sa contrefaçon parodique et puritaine qui joue le jeu du terrorisme et du fondamentalisme téléguidé par l’USIsrael. Et cet intérêt pour le Soufisme, ou “Taçawuff” en arabe, m’avait amené à m’intéresser plus particulièrement à sa facette Turque et Centre Asiatique qui s’écarte du soufisme plus ou moins orthodoxe pour puiser ses racines dans le chamanisme Turco-Mongol. Les Bektashis en sont parmi les plus fidèles représentants et c’est à cette voie de derviches bien particulière que fut initié Sebottendorf lors de son séjour en Turquie. C’est aussi aux enseignements de cette voie qu’il fait entre autre référence dans son ouvrage intitulé “La Pratique opérative de l’Ancienne Franc-Maçonnerie Turque”. J’ai donc voulu faire part de ces connexions à travers des morceaux qui évoqueraient son initiation au sein de ces confréries turques qui étaient loin d’être maçonniques. J’avais de plus réussi à dénicher des enregistrements sonores de chants rituels Bektashis, ou de ses branches parentes, que je trouvais intéressant d’exploiter musicalement.

En dernier lieu, j’ai toujours était insatisfait des morceaux que nous avions composés pour notre split avec Seuchensturm consacré à la Thulé et l’idée première de “Der Talisman des Rosenkreuzers” était de lui redonner une seconde vie en ne gardant que les meilleurs titres remaniés pour l’occasion et d’en composer de nouveaux plus travaillés et plus rigoureux. Je voulais aussi évoquer tout l’aspect purement pangermanique à travers des passages aux atmosphères hyperboréennes comme sur “Veilleur, où en est la Nuit?” par exemple, et, pour finir, je ressentais le besoin de composer des morceaux typiquement indus militaristes qui soient les plus bombastiques et militants possibles; le thème de la Société Thulé et de son mentor ne pouvait que se prêter à merveille à toutes mes envies créatives. Encore une fois, comme pour sur “Agarthi”, c’est entre Orient et Occident que ma musique navigue en quête d’un lieu, qui est situé lui au-delà des limites géographiques, en quête de cette Source Suprême qui est tapie tout à la fois au coeur du monde et qui s’élève jusqu’au seuil du pôle méta-cosmique, au-delà même de l’espace intersidéral et des miasmes du temps. Lumière illuminatrice tapie au-delà des ténèbres… Lumière Verte qui émerge de l’aurore du Soleil Noir.

CwS: Il est également l’auteur de l’ouvrage “Der Talisman des Rosenkreuzers” qui donne son nom à l’album. Que contient ce livre au titre intriguant? Et quelle est donc cette “mission secrète” dont il est également fait référence dans le titre?

BvS: Ce livre est son autobiographie et il y fait mention de ses périples et de ses initiations rosicruciennes et soufis. La mission secrète à laquelle se réfère le titre de l’album est celle dont il parle lui même dans son livre “Die Praxis der Alten Türkischen Freimaurerei” établie par ces mystérieux mandataires secrets qu’il nomme “Gens de la lettre Mim”, Supérieurs Inconnus qui, semble-t-il, auraient fort à voir avec “les Fils de la Vallée” des légendes Templières. Sa vie aventureuse et mystique rappellerait presque celle que nous conte la légende de Christian Rozenkreutz qui, lui aussi, fut initié en Orient et mandaté par des Supérieurs Inconnus pour qu’émerge en Occident les Frères de la Rose-Croix. Quant aux buts eschatologiques de cette mission secrète du Baron, je me suis longuement étendu sur le sujet dans un essai de quelques pages intitulé “Les filiations Occultes de la Loge Thulé et la Mission Secrète du Baron Sebottendorf ” que j’avais écrit originellement pour accompagner le CD “Der Talisman des Rosenkreuzers”. Cet essai que je viens de terminer sera disponible dans sa version exclusivement francophone livré en bonus du CD “Der Talisman des Rosenkreuzers” sur le catalogue SkullLine d’ici peu. Comme je l’explique dans mon investigation personnelle du sujet, la mission que s’était assigné le Baron en développant la Thulé avait des buts géopolitiques et ésotériques certains car l’avenir de l’Europe et aussi de l’Orient était encore en train de se jouer en ces temps-là. Mon texte aurait mérité de plus amples développements, mais je laisse le soin aux lecteurs éventuellement intéressés de continuer l’enquête par eux-mêmes et j’invite d’ailleurs grandement ceux qui veulent aller plus loin à lire l’abondante et riche littérature qui se consacre au thème de la Thulé.

Barbarossa Umtrunk / Der Testament des Rozenkreuzers

CwS: Quels épisodes particuliers de sa vie avez vous choisi d’illustrer et comment se recoupent t-ils à travers les différents morceaux de l’album? Est-ce que ce sont ces épisodes qui ont dictés la teneur musicale du disque ou la musique est-elle venue en premier?

BvS: Je me suis tout d’abord donné comme défi de mettre en musique certains textes assez connus du Baron, et de me plonger dans le contexte et l’état d’esprit dans lequel ces paroles furent consignées. Il s’agissait ensuite d’ajouter aux compos de base des éléments sonores qui puissent évoquer au mieux la “Weltanschauung” de Sebottendorf. Au travers de boucles hypnotiques et de passages orchestraux titanesques que j’ai construit se mêlent ainsi sur certains titres des éléments de musique ethnique Turque évoquant les initiations orientales du Baron et la vie qu’il aurait mené à Istanbul alors que d’autres morceaux nous replongent quant à eux, dans le contexte chaotique du Munich de 1919 à travers l’usage de samples historiques adéquats; rien n’est jamais placé par hasard dans ma musique. Ces deux univers, Ottomans/Bektashis/Janissaires d’un côté, et Prussiens/Munichois/Pangermanistes de l’autre, en viennent parfois même à se mêler comme sur l’”outro” de l’album. A noter que ce nouvel opus ne se limite pas qu’à la figure du Baron Sebottendorf mais que d’autres personnalités éminentes de l’ésotérisme Nazi sont invoqués, comme par exemple Karl Maria Weisthor sur “Gotai Halgarita”, vieux titre de Barbarossa Umtrunk retravaillé pour l’occasion et sur lequel Ra-Kha et moi avions intégrés une invocation Tibétaine qui crée une dimension étrange et rituelle teintée d’orient et de tantrisme étrangement accolée à des évocations plus guerrières dans le chant.

CwS: La dimension épique et cinématographique de “Der Talisman des Rozenkreuzers” est indéniable et la vie romanesque du baron s’y prête à merveille. Est-ce que certains films et bandes-originales ont nourris votre travail sur cet album? Qui sont les cinéastes qui vous inspirent?

BvS: Barbarossa Umtrunk cherche a apporter une dimension cinématographique et bien que je n’ai pas été influencés par un film en particulier, ma musique se nourrit néanmoins des atmosphères qu’on peux trouver dans des oeuvres cinématographiques épiques comme “Alexandre Nevski”, “Conan le Barbare”, “Excalibur”, “Mongol”, le dessin animé “Tygra la Glace et le Feu” ou encore un telefilm suisse que je possède sur une vieille K7 VHS, nommé “Le Prince Barbare”, qui nous plonge dans les forêts alpines, au coeur d’une tribu de Huns en fuite devant l’ennemi Romain supérieur en nombre. Quand aux bandes-sons de Hans Zimmer, Basil Pouledouris ou encore Graeme Rewell, elles m’inspirent forcément! Pour les voyages du Baron en Orient, le film sur Gurdjieff de Peter Brook, “Rencontre avec des Hommes Remarquables”, m’a visuellement influencé (ce qui avait aussi été le cas sur mon album précédent “Agharti”). Des visions inspirées par le film “L’Ange Bleu” me mirent, elles aussi, en condition durant la conception du morceau “l’Hôtel des 4 Saisons”. J’aime beaucoup le cinéma tous genres confondus. Les cinéastes qui m’inspirent sont les Expressionnistes allemands, les Néo-Réalistes italiens, la “Nouvelle Vague” et des réalisateurs aussi variés que Eric Rohmer, Jean-Pierre Melville, David Cronenberg, Jean Cocteau, Lars Von Trier, Tarkovsky, Werner Herzog, Akira Kurozawa, Shinya Tsukamoto, David Lynch, Wim Wenders, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Dario Argento, Guillermo Del Toro, John Carpenter, Kenneth Anger, Richard Stanley, Jean Rollin et tant d’autres. J’adore aussi les vieux polars français des années 70-80, tous les films avec Louis de Funes, ou encore le cinéma d’action et de SF: Fight Club, Matrix, Ghost in the Shell, Tetsuo 1 et 2, Mark XIII, Blade Runner, Watchmen, 2001, Dune, Stargate, 10000, Apocalypto, La Route, Ghosts of Mars, toute la série des Mad Max…
Certaines séries TV m’ont marquées et plus particulièrement Twin Peaks, le Prisonnier, Lost, Battlestar Galactica (la série de 2003) ou encore deux génialissimes mini séries télévisuelles ésotériques saisonnières oubliées qui datent des temps de la RTF : “Belphégor” et “Les Compagnons de Baal”. Certains “animés” et mangas m’inspirent aussi et il m’ait même arrivé d’en sampler des passages sur d’anciens morceaux.

CwS: Les choeurs et chants sur “Der Talisman des Rozenkreuzers”, et notamment le morceau titre sont très réussis… S’agit-il de samples ou bel et bien de voix enregistrées pour l’occasion? Dans l’ensemble, je dois dire que la production sur cet album est irréprochable… Comment s’est passé l’enregistrement cette fois?

BvS: Les choeurs et chants du morceau éponyme de l’album sont des samples de rituels Bektashis accompagnés d’un “ney”, un instrument typique de l’Asie Centrale. J’ai mêlé ces éléments ethniques et traditionnels disparates à mes parties sonores post-industrielles, soutenues par cette boucle orchestrale épique très intense qui clôture le morceau. En général, je travaille mes titres par étapes: tout d’abord, je compose des pistes assez minimalistes et “ambient” sur lesquelles vont s’ajouter au fil de la composition les parties percussives puis, pour finir, les passages mélodiques ou éléments sonores d’ambiance. Je n’intègre le chant et les vocaux qu’à la toute fin sur les parties où il me semble bon de placer mon texte. Je suis autodidacte et j’essaie tant bien que mal, et en toute humilité, de peaufiner le mixage et la production de ma musique au maximum de mes moyens et de mes compétences techniques limitées.

CwS: Avez-vous justement songé à employer votre voix de façon différente sur un registre moins déclamé?

BvS: Oui, bien que je ne sois initialement pas très doué pour le chant, je me suis néanmoins décidé à inclure de plus en plus de vocaux incantatoires plus profonds, intenses et moins déclamés. Je m’etais aussi essayé à des voix agressives sur quelques anciens de mes titres et dans le futur j’aimerais tester de nombreuses autres techniques vocales afin d’etoffer ma musique et lui donner plus de variété et d’ampleur.

CwS: Pourquoi avoir repris des thèmes antérieurs dans la discographie du groupe sur “Veilleur où en est la Nuit?” et sur “L’Elu du Dragon Vert?”

BvS: Parce qu’à la base, comme je l’ai expliqué plus haut concernant la conception de cet album, j’avais comme but premier dans l’idée de rééditer mon split avec Seuchensturm “Thule Gesellschaft” totalement retravaillé, à vrai dire épuré de certains morceaux et remplacés par de nouveaux. Néanmoins, je ne tenais pas à me séparer de ces deux titres qui pour moi étaient vraiment réussis. J’ai toutefois remanié “Veilleur où en est la Nuit?” qui s’intitulait préalablement “Thule Gesellschaft”, j’en ai aussi profité pour ressortir de la cave un morceau inédit jusqu’alors “Gotai Halgarita”, dont j’ai déjà parlé un peu plus haut, et où sont récités des mantras du mage Karl Maria Willigut. J’aimerais signaler pour finir que le morceau “L’Elu du Dragon Vert” fut entièrement composé par G.C. à l’époque de “Thule Gesellschaft” et que je n’ai fait que le remasteriser pour sa réapparition sur “Der Talisman”.

CwS: Qui est le troisième Sargon évoqué dans la prophécie du troisième Sharrukin imprimée dans la pochette de l’album?

BvS: Cette prophétie du Troisième Sargon (Sargon signifiant en Akkadien “Roi légitime”) fut révélée à Sebottendorf lors de ses voyages en Orient comme on peut le lire dans mon étude sur le sujet et il est étonnant de constater à quel point elle est proche des thèmes plus communs du règne à venir du Roi du Monde, lorsque celui-ci surgira à la surface de la Terre sous l’aspect du Cavalier Blanc de l’Apocalypse de St Jean précédant le retour du Christ et que les traditions désignent tour à tour comme le Madhi, Kalki ou encore Melki-Tsedek, Roi de Justice et de Vérité. C’est encore une fois le mythe de l’Empereur Endormi, qu’il s’agisse d’ailleurs de Sargon III, du Roi Arthur endormi en Avalon, du XIIème Imam “occulté” des Chiites, de Barberousse qui siège au coeur de la montagne sacrée de Kyffhauser, d’Adolf Hitler toujours vivant et réfugié en Antarctique ou encore du “Roy perdu” Dagobert II et de sa descendance occulte, seule héritière légitime du Royaume de France; ce sont en effet toujours les mêmes principes universels de “Royauté sacrée et occultée qui veille en attendant le Retour des Grands Temps à l’heure du Renversement ultime des Pôles” qu’évoquent ces mythes conformément au sens de la maxime latine “Ex Oriente Lux ex Occidente Dux” (signifiant: ” De l’Orient provient la Lumière, de l’Occident vient le guide ou le chef”).

CwS: Il y a de nombreux invités sur l’album, pouvez vous nous les présenter? On sait peu de choses sur Elli Riehl… Comment s’est passé cette collaboration? Pouvez vous nous éclairer un peu sur le sens de son intervention dans un album ou rien n’est laissé au hasard?

BvS: J’aime l’esprit de camaraderie et l’idée de travailler en “binôme” avec des artistes extérieurs desquels je me sens proche. Je trouve, de plus, l’expérience enrichissante sur le plan créatif. En ce qui concerne le morceau “Walvater”, j’avais avant tout besoin de vocaux Teutoniques pour donner plus de tonus au titre en question auquel je voulais offrir une seconde naissance en y intégrant des extraits des Eddas Scandinaves. Il se trouve que j’étais en contact avec Elli Riehl et qu’ayant toujours trouvé sa voix terrifiante et très intense, j’ai tout de suite songé à lui comme “invité” sur ce titre aux accents Wagnériens et Thuléens. Le résultat est au-delà de mes espérances et d’autres collaborations à venir avec Elli Riehl sont d’ores et déjà prévues… Mes amitiés étroites avec TSIDMZ et Front Sonore, quant à elles, expliquent leurs implications respectives sur cet album. J’avais déjà opéré sur “Agarthi” des collaborations avec Schattenspiel ou Tamerlan, et je voulais renouveler ce type d’expérience en faisant intervenir des groupes aux sonorités différentes et encore plus proches de ma démarche, que ce soit sur le plan créatif ou militant. Le sujet ne pouvait d’ailleurs que plaire à TSIDMZ, projet Italien de musique post-industrielle expérimentale et martiale au parcours idéologique et ésotérique assez similaire au mien et qui, tout comme moi, n’a pas peur de jouer avec le feu!

CwS: Si vous pouviez rencontrer le Baron aujourd’hui et lui poser une seule question, quelle serait cette question?

BvS: Maître, suis-je digne de mener de nouveau le combat?

CwS: Est-ce que c’est l’album de votre discographie dont vous êtes le plus fier à ce jour? Par où commencer pour un néophyte qui s’apprête à explorer le labyrinthe Barbarossa Umtrunk?

BvS: Les deux disques dont je suis le plus fier et satisfaits sont bel et bien “Der Talisman Des Rosenkreuzers” et “Distant Shores of Hvetramannaland”, peut-être parce qu’ ils sont, à mon goût, les plus aboutis. “Agarthi” possède toutefois le karma idéal pour débuter. C’est une bonne première approche de ma musique et des thèmes symboliques et traditionnels qu’elle développe.

CwS: Von Sebottendorf a donc également fondé la société de thulé. En quoi consistait la société de Thulé? Quel était le but de cette organisation? Quel est le rapport entre la société de Thulé et la société du Vril?

BvS: Les buts tout à la fois occultes et politiques de cette organisation sont décrits et étudiés dans mon essai “Les Filiations Occultes de la Loge Thulé”. En ce qui concerne le Vril, on évoque souvent dans la littérature “New Age” et post-Théosophique, depuis la fameuse collection “L’Aventure Mystèrieuse” des éditions J’ai Lu, cette Loge du Vril à l’existence plus qu’incertaine bien que des microsociétés secrètes semblent s’être attribué cette appellation et qu’une loge du Vril aurait vraiment été active du temps de la Société Thulé puis du régime Nazi, bien que cela ne soit pas prouvé. L’origine mythique du Vril remonte à quelques ouvrages de la fin du XIXème siècle ,comme ceux de E.B. Lytton ou Louis Jacolliot, qui lancèrent le concept métapsychique et spiritualiste d’énergie du Vril avant, comme je viens de le signaler, qu’on ne relance son thème et ne mette en avant ce concept à travers l’évocation d’une soi-disante société secrète du même nom dans des ouvrages comme “Le Matin des Magiciens” puis dans toute la littérature paranormale d’”Archéologie Mystérieuse” et de “Réalisme Fantastique” qui suivra. Il semble toutefois, que Bergier et Pauwels (note de l’éditeur: Bergier et Pauwels sont les auteurs du “Matin des Magiciens”) aient voulus faire référence de manière voilée à l’”Hermetic Brotherhood of Luxor” à laquelle appartenait H.P Blavatsky avant de fonder la Société Théosophique. Pour finir, le Vril évoque aussi bien la Lumière Astrale de l’occultiste Eliphas Levi, le Rayon Vert des Alchimistes et des anciens Egyptiens, l’énergie “Qi” des Taoïstes, la Lumière Verte des Soufis d’Iran que l’Energie Libre de Nicolas Tesla.

Thule Gesellschaft

CwS: On sait que le parti Nazi a plus tard interdit la société de Thulé pour ses racines Maçonniques. Pensez vous que traditions Maçonniques et Aryanistes sont totalement incompatibles?

BvS: Non, bien au contraire, c’est d’ailleurs toute la nébuleuse “Aryaniste” et pas uniquement “Maçonnique” qui fut démantelée à l’époque, le paganisme, l’occultisme et le Pangermanisme n’étant pas forcément bien vu par le régime en place. Quand aux aspects Maçonniques qui ont pu faire corps avec certains rituels de la Thulé et autres sociétés secrètes de tendance “Illuministes” de l’époque, il étaient avant tout d’influences Johannites et Templières de “marge” de tendance monarchiste, soutenant en Allemagne l’idéal Prussien; celles-là même qui s’opposèrent à la Maçonnerie officielle qui épousait les idées républicaines. Les Corporations de Métiers auxquelles remontent la Franc-Maçonnerie originelle vont d’ailleurs très loin dans le temps, jusqu’aux constructeurs de mégalithes, de là à évoquer les temps mythiques des hyperboréens, il n’y a qu’un pas. Un rituel maçonnique du “Rite Ecossais Ancien et Accepté” fort instructif et qui n’est plus opéré de nos jours se relie lui-même à ce type de filiation. Il s’agissait du 21eme degré, celui du “Chevalier Prussien ou Noachite”, qui s’attachait aussi bien aux traditions antédiluviennes énochiennes qu’à servir l’idéal du “Saint Empire Germanique”.

CwS: Donc la Franc-Maçonnerie telle qu’elle est perçue aujourd’hui n’a rien à voir avec celle de nos ancêtres? Il est d’ailleurs intéressant de constater qu’aux Etats-Unis, les confréries maçonniques sont devenues avant tout des sessions de beuveries organisées de façon rituelle mais au delà de l’aspect fraternel il n’y a souvent pas grand chose derrière…

BvS: La majeure partie de la Franc-Maçonnerie actuelle s’est en effet éloigné de ses principes initiatiques de base, on assiste même bien souvent à une Franc-Maçonnerie traditionnelle renversée, à une inversion de polarités comme l’avait si bien constaté Evola. La Franc-Maçonnerie de nos jours, c’est avant tout un bon réseau d’influences pour nos politiciens verreux, bien loin de la Maçonnerie Occultiste et Templière traditionnelle.

CwS: La création de la société de Thulé rattache donc notre baron à l’Esotérisme Nazi qui fait partie intégrante de l’univers Barbarossa. Quels sont les principaux mythes de l’Esotérisme Nazi? Sur quoi se fondent-ils? Fantasmes “pulp” d’après guerre exploités dans “Le Matin des Magiciens” ou, au contraire, véritables traditions pangermanistes?

BvS: J’aime autant puiser, d’une part dans les traditions indo-européennes authentiques ou ce qu’il en reste pour y déceler la gnose “polaire” encore vivante, que dans les enseignements “Pangermanistes” et “Aryanistes” de l’entre-deux-guerres de Guido Von List ou de Von Liebenfiels. D’autre part, j’aime aussi explorer et évoquer l’ésotérisme Nazi tel qu’il s’est développé ensuite dans les œuvres de Miguel Serrano ou Savitri Devi puis, en dernier lieu, à travers les fantasmes “pulp” qui florissaient d’après-guerre, suite à la publication du “Matin des Magiciens” (et qui ne sont souvent pas bien loin de tomber dans un imaginaire “steampunk” au visuel rétro-futuriste fort intéressant à exploiter et illustrer musicalement). Mêler toutes ces tendances et laisser l’auditeur explorer ce maelstrom d’arcanes sulfureuses, c’est un peu le but que je me suis assigné à chaque fois que j’ai traité dans mon œuvre des Mystères et de l’Occultisme Nazi.

Il faut lire “Le Matin des Magiciens” entre les lignes, car il y a de nombreux concepts ésotériques clés indéniables dans ce livre et de nombreuses pistes de recherche intéressantes, pour qui sait ouvrir son âme et apprécier à sa juste valeur le “Réalisme Fantastique”, comme se plaisaient à le désigner Pauwels et Bergier. Il m’a terriblement marqué adolescent, c’est en le lisant que j’ai découvert pour la première fois toutes ces théories et mystiques liées au régime Nazi, ces histoires à dormir debout au sujet de la Terre Creuse, de Shambhala et de l’Agartha, de surhommes Nazis, de Lunes Antérieures, de Mondes de Glace, de Supérieurs Inconnus, du Vril et j’en passe, m’ont fait vibrer bien plus que n’importe quelle nouvelle littéraire de Lovecraft ou Howard qui étaient pourtant alors mes auteurs de “Fantastique” favoris, et dont les oeuvres recèlent, cela dit, elles aussi de ténébreuses vérités tapies derrière le sens apparent et littéral du texte. Toute mon orientation de recherche ésotérique postérieure est partie de ce livre et il reste pour moi, malgré toutes ses erreurs et contre-verités évidentes, un “must” en la matière et riche de données sur l’Histoire Occulte du monde pour qui sait lire et déchiffrer les secrets tapies derrière les mots apparents. Qu’il ait influencé, en bien ou en mal, un grand nombre d’”ouvrages a sensations” postérieurs, c’est un fait indéniable et c’est d’ailleurs ainsi qu’il devenu un livre référence bien qu’étant pour de vrai très approximatif et controversé quant à ses sources et qu’ayant de plus indéniablement pris des rides avec le temps. Néanmoins, le charme opère toujours… en ce qui me concerne du moins!

CwS: Comme vous l’avez précisé, le “Matin des Magiciens”, qui m’a aussi fait un choc lors de sa lecture je l’avoue, compile des histoires toutes plus ou invraisemblables les unes que les autres… Ce que j’aimerais savoir c’est quel crédit vous apportez aux théories de la Terre Creuse, aux Mondes de Glace etc etc… ?

BvS: Je m’y suis interessé en tant que théories scientifiques parallèles, malgré leur fantaisie apparente et aussi parce qu’elles correspondent à une vision du monde différente, une vision pour ainsi dire “magique” des phénomènes cosmiques et telluriques. Comme je m’interesse aussi beaucoup à l’Astronomie et à la Cosmologie moderne, j’ai néanmoins pu établir des parallèles fort curieux avec ces théories para-scientifiques de l’Allemagne Nazie. Tout le monde sait aujourd’hui que la Lune fut originellement un morceau de notre Terre expulsé par l’impact d’un météorite de la taille de Mars il y a 4,4 milliards d’années et les astronomes parlent même parfois de deux lunes qui auraient pu cohabiter un temps avant que la plus petite ne retombe sur terre, provoquant de nouveau des catastrophes à l’échelle planétaire.

En ce qui concerne la Terre Creuse, il est prouvé que notre Terre ne l’est pas (en tout cas, pas dans nos “4 dimensions” de l’Espace-Temps) mais une découverte toute récente émanant d’astronautes Japonais mérite d’être évoquée: ils ont repérés des planètes flottantes ou “planètes noires” errantes, rayonnantes mais invisibles, dont la source de chaleur infra-rouge proviendrait de leurs entrailles et qui pourraient habriter des océans souterrains et même de la vie à leur surfarce interne lorsqu’elles sont de type tellurique. Dan Hooper et Jason Steffen, du Fermilab à Chicago, s’expriment eux-même en ces termes: “Ces planètes fondues seraient entourés par une croûte solide, sous laquelle une vie souterraine serait possible…”. Ces Astres noirs seraient donc parfois des Terres Creuses errantes voyageant à travers l’Espace, il y a de quoi rêver et de ne plus tenir comme si fantaisistes et farfelues que ça, les théories relatives à l’idée de Terre(s) Creuse(s). Les recherches actuelles autour des Vortex, de la Théorie des Cordes ou encore de celle du “Tout”, apportent, elles aussi, des réponses étonnantes à la question des mondes parallèles situés dans des dimensions supérieures comme Shambhala ou Agarthi. Je porte aussi crédit, pour finir, à l’existence, dans un lointain passé, des continents Atlantes et Hyperboréens et des civilisations mythiques et légendaires qu’ils engendrèrent. Il y a, encore une fois, des ouvrages et des essais vraiment sincères et interessant qui traitent de ces théories derrière la masse abjecte des livres New-Age traitant du sujet. On trouve de tout sur ces thèmes: du plus phantasmatique au plus rigoureux et scientifique qui soit, c’est à chacun de trier… J’aime, pour ma part, me procurer de vieux numéros de la revue “Atlantis” de Paul le Cour, ou encore de la publication d’Archéologie Mystérieuse “Kadath” de Jacques Gossart.

CwS: Vous avez également consacré un disque à Miguel Serrano, un des chantres de l’Esotérisme Nazi qui considérait Hitler comme le dernier avatar, soit le sauveur de l’humanité. Pouvez-vous nous éclairer sur ce personnage et son oeuvre ainsi que la raison pour laquelle vous avez décidé de lui dédier un album?

BvS: J’ai lu tous les livres de Serrano traduits en français et je me suis tenu au courant du contenu de ses ouvrages en espagnol. Les idées qu’il exprime au sujet de l’Antarctique et du Soleil Noir me touchent du plus profond du coeur. Son talent poétique est, lui aussi, indéniable et son inspiration ésotérique, quoi qu’en disent ses nombreux détracteurs, est très riche et possède un fort potentiel d’illumination authentique. Ses concepts, qui font écho à Carl Jung, sont foisonnants d’originalité et font forcément rêver les nostalgiques d’autres temps où la Flamme de l’espoir était encore flamboyante et vigoureuse. Savitri Devi, elle aussi, parle d’Hitler comme d’un Bodhisattva, d’un Tulku, d’un être accompli qui réapparaîtra lors de l’achèvement du Kali-Yuga sous les traits de Kalki. Il fut, en quelque sorte, la préfiguration de ce sauveur à venir qui doit précéder la descente de l’Esprit, de ce Grand Monarque “bien guidé” de la fin des temps, comme en témoigne aussi le Guénonien Michel Valsân, cité par Jean Robin.
Car, selon Parvulesco, l’heure ultime n’ayant pas encore sonné; les temps sont proches désormais où sonneront les 7 trompettes et où (ré-)apparaîtra le cavalier blanc des prophéties de St Jean. Cavalier Blanc qui nous renvoie, d’une part, aux “visions” de Leon Bloy et, d’autre part, à Serrano et à son très inspiré “Nietzsche et l’Eternel retour”, où l’auteur nous parle, dans le chapitre intitulé “L’hallucination de l’atome”, des neutrinos qui sont des particules dont la vitesse dépasse de loin celle de la lumière (Serrano établit alors magistralement un parallèle avec le Cheval blanc de Kalki qui galope en direction du passé et qui est plus rapide que la lumière), théorie scientifique de “pointe” qui prouve, une fois de plus, par la science, l’existence de dimensions supérieures et archétypales dont notre Espace-temps n’est que le reflet tronqué (concepts si chers aux Hermétistes et Gnostiques de tous temps, mais aussi à Carl Jung et Miguel Serrano).

Je m’intéresse d’ailleurs moi-même à la théorie du “Tout” et aussi à celle des “Cordes”, et toutes ces découvertes scientifiques récentes se rapprochent étroitement des cosmogonies d’antan décrites par les Rose-Croix et les Gnostiques, ou encore des enseignements de Cosmogénèse qu’on peut trouver dans des ouvrages comme “La Doctrine Secrète” de H.P. Blavatsky ou les écrits du théosophe iranien Sohrawardi, père de l’Illuminisme Persan médiéval dit de l’école “Ishraqi” (dont de nombreux principes ésotériques sont très proches eux aussi de ceux élaborés par Miguel Serrano). Quant à la théorie de “La Structure Absolue”, élaborée dans les années 50 par Raymond Abellio, elle préfigurait avec son langage propre les concepts de “quarks” des atomistes et physiciens modernes. D’ailleurs, la Cosmogonie Hindoue se rapproche elle aussi des découvertes récentes en matière de cosmologie moderne, en témoignent les travaux théoriques de l’astrophysicien Thin Xuan Thuan. Je ne vais pas m’étendre sur ces connexions étroites entre les concepts des écoles ésotériques et astrologiques d’antan et ceux de l’astronomie moderne, mais la cosmogonie décrite par Serrano est, elle-même, très pertinente lorsque l’on étudie de plus près ses similitudes avec les théories quantiques et cosmologiques que développent en toute intégrité les chercheurs actuels. Pour finir, il faut signaler que Miguel Serrano était un “Initié” authentique et que son rapport sincère à l’Inde ou encore au Catharisme et au Tantrisme, apporte un charme indéniable à son oeuvre, sublime aussi bien sur le plan littéraire que du point de vue doctrinale et cosmogénèsique. J’apprécie beaucoup aussi sa façon subtile et purement “Jungienne” d’aborder les phénomènes ufologiques. Le jour de sa mort, j’ai été profondément troublé et l’idée m’est venue de lui consacrer un disque mémorial. J’avais envie depuis longtemps de déclamer certains de ses textes sur ma musique, j’en ai donc sélectionné quelques uns puis j’ai parlé de mon idée à S. de Dronerune avec qui j’avais déjà collaboré sur “72 Candles In Cairo” et qui fut tout de suite emballé par l’idée de faire un split en commun en hommage au tout dernier des troubadours. Mon prochain split prévu pour bientôt chez UFA Muzak avec Escuardon de la Muerte baptisé “Batismo de Fuego: Le Dernier Bataillon” et qui oriente son thème autour de NeuSchwabenland et des Ovnis Nazis est d’ailleurs un nouvel hommage à Serrano.

CwS: Avez-vous vu le film Iron Sky? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Py_IndUbcxc). Peut-être que, contrairement à ce que pense Mr Serrano, ce n’est pas en Antarctique que les Nazis se sont réfugiés…

BvS: Je n’ai pas vu Iron Sky, mais les bandes annonces et la bande-son laissent présager du meilleur, ne serait-ce que sur le plan esthétique et visuel. J’ai gardé un oeil sur l’avancée du projet depuis ses débuts et j’ai hâte de voir le film final. La Thulé et l’Ahnenerbe, ou l’Ordre Noir pour faire plus court, étaient déjà évoqués dans des blockbusters comme “Indiana Jones” et “Hellboy” mais ce n’étaient pas les protagonistes principaux du film, alors que là c’est le cas et les images de promotion sont magnifiques. Voir comme pour de vrai des Ovnis de l’Ordre Noir sur écran ne peut être que jouissif pour les amateurs d’indus martial et de Mystères Nazis. Il y a aussi un film sympa d’ambiance “steampunk” et “pulp” pas très connu sortit il y a quelques années qui préfigurait un peu le thème d’Iron Sky et que je conseille à ceux qui ne le connaissent pas déja, ça s’appelle “Capitaine Sky et le Monde de Demain”, les visuels sont rétro-futuristes à souhait et l’on voyage même jusqu’à Shambhala!
Concernant la théorie d’une survivance secrètes de bataillons et d’Ovnis Nazis sur la face cachée de notre satellite naturel et l’exploitation de ce thème dans la culture populaire, tout jeune déjà, j’avais été confronté à ce concept d’une Organisation Occulte ennemie des terriens, d’un Ordre Noir établie sur la face sombre de la Lune à travers le dessin animé japonais Goldorak (UFO Robot Grendizer) et ça m’a forcément marqué. Signalons aussi l’existence de “L’Empire des Cinq”, un autre dessin animé japonais diffusé lui aussi sur les ondes lors de mon enfance et sous-titré “La légende de l’Empire perdu de Mu”, qui puisait son inspiration dans des thématiques Ufologiques et Théosophiques teintées d’Archéologie Mystérieuse, allant jusqu’à faire référence de manière implicite à la mythologie et à l’ésotérisme N.S. d’après-guerre puisqu’il met en scène, sur fond de quête d’un “trésor sacré” immémorial nommé Askadis, des combats titanesques entre Méchas et bataillons d’Ovnis intraterrestes ainsi que “cerise sur le gâteau”: Une alliance occulte entre la survivance cachée de l’”Ordre Noir” Nazi en Amérique du Sud avec les Logors (les méchants principaux de la série) qui sont des descendants de Dévas et d’Atlantes déchus à la peau verdoyante résidant au sein de la Terre Creuse et qui sous l’égide d’un “Roi de la Peur”, transfuge du Roi du Monde, ont pour projet de surgir du monde souterrain afin envahir la Terre aux côtés des divisions SS encore debout. Un vrai régal!

CwS: Intéressant de voir à quel point certaines choses de notre enfance peuvent-être déterminantes…

BvS: En verité, ca m’est surtout revenu lorsque j’ai découvert les Mystères et l’ufologie Nazie bien plus tard, mais j’avais envie d’évoquer ces dessins animés parfois étranges et vraiment sympas qui passaient sur la télé des années 80 comme ce fut aussi le cas des “Cités d’Or”. Et il y a certainement, comme tu le sous-entends, des aspects sulfureux qui ont pu me marquer dans l’inconscient plus que chez d’autres!
Plus sérieusement, je m’intéresse depuis longtemps déjà aux mystères U.F.O et je suis passionné par ces concepts de bases secrètes Nazies en Antarctique, de théories de la Terre Creuse ou encore par la Cosmogonie d’Horbiger, éminent penseur et astrophysicien d’entre-deux-guerres à qui j’ai dédié certains de mes morceaux. Certains articles ufologiques que j’ai pu lire font en effet mention de la présence de Nazis sur la Lune et on en trouve aussi une évocation dans le fameux “Livre Jaune”, si je ne m’abuse. Ces informations sont néanmoins à prendre avec des pincettes et un regard critique bien qu’elles ne soient pas totalement infondées, tout comme la lecture du fameux “Livre Jaune” d’ailleurs, petite bible moderne du “conspirationisme” et du “Next Age” (qu’il convient toutefois de lire encore une fois entre les lignes) et qui, tout comme “Le Matin des Magiciens” en son temps, concentre un certain nombre de ses chapitres autour des mystères des Nazis et de la Terre Creuse. Ainsi ces pseudo-révélations conspirationistes relèvent bien plus souvent du mythe mais n’y a-t-il pas toujours une part de vérité cachée derrière les mythes?
Mais pour revenir à la question, en parallèle à l’Ufologie Nazie, je porte une attention particulière aux travaux de Richard Hoagland concernant des structures artificielles titanesques présentes toutes à la fois sur les surfaces de Mars et de la Lune. Les informations dévoilées dans le livre “Pénétration” d’Ingo Swann, récemment édité par les éditions de l’Oeil du Sphinx, sont également révélatrices de nombreuses vérités occultées par la N.A.S.A. Je m’inspire d’ailleurs de ces sujets dans mon projet parallèle Cydonia, et ce thème de “complot” lunaire inspire même le titre de mon premier opus nommé “Sinus Medii” du nom d’une région de la face cachée supposée abriter des tours artificielles d’un autre âge et à l’allure titanesque. Je m’intéresse aussi de très près à tout ce qui touche les découvertes scientifiques officielles récentes en Astronomie, Cosmologie et Science Quantique. On trouve souvent des articles surprenants dans les revues scientifiques spécialisées.
Pour en revenir à “Iron Sky” et puisqu’il s’agit avant tout de “Cinéma”, je trouve pour ma part l’idée de situer la base Nazie sur la face cachée de la Lune plutôt intéressante, c’était une manière subtile de faire écho sous forme de “trompe-l’oeil” à toute cette mythologie moderne d’une survivance occulte du Troisième Reich, sans toutefois centrer l’action au coeur du mystère, c’est à dire en Antarctique, car c’est bien évidemment de là et de nulle part d’autre qu’émergeront les forces Ataviques salvatrices de la Fin et c’est la théorie à mon avis la plus plausible concernant la survivance “réelle” de bataillons Nazis. Les livres de Wilhelm Landig qui traitent du sujet sont quand à eux plutôt bien ficelés et je les conseille aux lecteurs engagés qui voudront aborder le phénomène de manière sérieuse et militante. Je rappelle que tous ces concepts et cette “hierohistoire” qui tournent autour de la Terre Creuse, de “NeueSchwabenland” et des armes secrètes Nazies sont le sujet de mon prochain split avec le projet Mexicain Escuadron de la Muerte intitulé “Batismo de Fuego: Le Dernier Bataillon”, dont j’ai parlé plus haut et qui devrait sortir chez UFA Muzak dans les mois à venir: un voyage au coeur de la Nouvelle Souabe qui plaira j’en suis sûr aux inconditionnels d’ufologie Nazie et de Miguel Serrano.

strong>CwS: Oui, j’ai lu le “Livre Jaune”, qui m’avait été prêté par une hippie New-Age qui vivait dans la montagne au milieu de nul part… Mais maintenant que j’y pense, en dehors du fait que ce genre d’ouvrage et autres théories du complot trouvent aussi un écho très favorable chez un lectorat New-Age assez pénible et que ces mêmes théories sont également très en vogue chez certains rappeurs U.S qui ont fait des illuminati un thème incontournable, peut-on donc aussi parler d’un effet “Da Vinci Code” (direct descendant de certains ouvrages de vulgarisation ésotérique dont fait, au fond, partie le “Matin des Magiciens”) qui fait au final plus de mal qu’autre chose? Que pensez-vous de cette vulgarisation outrancière qui a toujours existée certes, mais qui aujourd’hui, via une accessibilité permanente, pour ne pas dire forcée, aux médias de masse à pris une vitesse supérieure?

BvS: Le phénomène “Da Vinci Code” qui pompe honteusement certains thèmes d’ailleurs eux-même bricolés liès à l’affaire de “Rennes-le-Château”, a été le déclencheur d’une flopée de thrillers pseudo-ésotériques qui mettent en scène Templiers, Franc-Maçons et même parfois l’Ahnenerbe ( “La Prophétie Charlemagne” de Steve Berry). C’est bien souvent un mal car les lecteurs n’approfondissent généralement jamais le sujet et s’arrêtent à la vision de l’auteur purement “fictive”. C’en est de même en ce qui concerne les ouvrages “New-Age” si souvent médiocres qui infestent les rayons ésotériques des librairies. Il semble que plus c’est vulgarisé et tronqué, plus ça plait, un peu comme pour le cas du Conspirationisme à la mode “rap”, ou des films comme Zeitgeist qui amalgament si vite Gnostiques, Nazis, Franc-Maçons, Sionistes, Banquiers et Annunakis voire même Reptiliens… les gens ont besoin de surnaturel et de théories pré-digérées des plus brèves et vides d’”enseignement spirituel authentique” qui soient, ce qui laisse libre cours à leurs imaginations fantasmées et qui les fait s’écarter de la vraie connaissance ésotérique d’ordre plus intellectuel. D’un autre côté c’est plutôt rassurant car la Tradition et la vrai Gnose n’est pas destiné à tout un chacun et seule une certaine élite spirituelle authentiquement initiée est digne d’être rattachée aux enseignements émanant du Centre Suprème. Comme le disait René Guénon, “les secrets du pôle sont bien gardés.” Et n’est pas élu qui veut…

CwS: On l’a donc vu: plus qu’un ensemble de mythes, l’Esotérisme Nazi est également une croyance vivace chez certains. de quel côté se situe Barbarossa? Simple sujet d’étude ou au contraire croyance véritable en ces mythes?

BvS: C’est avant tout un sujet d’étude avec la réelle volonté toutefois d’en déceler les arcanes secrets sans tomber dans le piège des tentations “contre initiatiques” et fantasmatiques. C’est un thème ésotérique que j’explore depuis de nombreuses années sans m’en lasser car il est très riche et si l’on remonte son fil d’Ariane, on s’aperçoit qu’il puise sa source à la Source même, puisque la Tradition Polaire et Hyperboréenne à laquelle faisaient référence les organisations Occultes Nazis représente le tout premier cycle de manifestation, celui de l’Age d’Or lorsque le Paradis n’avait pas encore été perdu. Cette volonté de réintégration de l’état primordial de l’Etre, du Dieu en nous qu’explorèrent les voies dites “Polaires” et les hautes sphères de la Gnose N.S. et aryaniste ne leur fut toutefois pas exclusif car est un thème gnostique récurent dans de nombreuses autres traditions Indo-Européennes (dans lesquels l’Esotérisme Nazi plus contemporain n’hésita d’ailleurs pas par la suite à puiser son inspiration doctrinale). Concernant la Tradition Hyperboréenne, l’oeuvre d’Evola est un pôle d’Orientation essentiel pour les chercheurs sincères. Et comment ne pas évoquer “La Croisade contre le Graal” et “La Cour de Lucifer” d’Otto Rahn qui sont restées des oeuvres maîtresses et n’ont pas pris une ride.

Dans l’Esotérisme Nazi contemporain et plus proche de nous, les éléments symboliques mis en jeu sont visuellement très puissants et renvoient d’ailleurs explicitement à des archétypes solaires et virils dans la droite lignée d’Evola. Il ne s’agit finalement, ni plus ni moins, en réalité que d’une version moderne et actualisée pour cette fin de Kali Yuga de la voie du Kshatrya qui exista de tout temps. Le combat que mena temporellement le Reich est lui aussi un combat de toujours, un combat archétypal et c’est en cela que la défaite temporelle n’était que le prélude à une victoire d’ordre plus spirituel, lorsque l’Empereur Endormi, que ce soit Hitler ou Barberousse ou encore Zalmoxis, se réveillera en Occident et qu’il apparaîtra sous les traits du Cavalier Blanc, que les différentes traditions nomment tour à tour Kalki, Madhi, Saoshyant ou tout simplement Roi du Monde et qui sera chargé à la fin des temps de restaurer l’Ordre et de clôturer par la même le Cycle de manifestation actuelle.
C’est lorsque aura lieu l’ultime renversement des Pôles que l’on pourra proclamer de nouveau comme aux tout premiers temps: “Ex Septentrione Lux”". On a donc la preuve ici que les symboles Alchimiques, Anthroposophiques, Cosmogoniques et Eschatologiques qui sous-tendent l’égrégore très riche de la Gnose N.S., si on sait toutefois l’assimiler dans son “essence” et ne pas se laisser tenter par ces contrefaçons parodiques, ne sont qu’une manifestation authentique parmi d’autres des principes supérieurs et majestueux qu’exprime la Tradition Primordiale (et en cela Miguel Serrano mérite le plus grand respect puisqu’il a su à mon goût synthétiser et revivifier avec justesse et intuition prophétique toute cette gnose aryenne, polaire et cosmique afin de nous en livrer les clés cosmogoniques et théosophiques essentielles). Je conseille fortement aux profanes, qui veulent avoir une première vue d’ensemble de ces concepts et nouvelles mythologies qui puisent pourtant dans le ferment originel “Hyperboréen” le plus ancien qui soit, la lecture du livre “Arktos” de Jocelyn Godwinn qui s’avère être la plus complète et la meilleure étude sur le sujet parue à ce jour.

CwS: Vous parlez d’un combat archetypal en vous référant au combat du Troisième Reich… Quel est ce combat? Le Troisième Reich est principalement vu comme étant la pire dictature qu’ait connu l’humanité, dictature qui a mené à l’extermination pure et simple de millions de personnes. J’imagine que vous voyez les choses d’un autre oeil?
Y a t-il un effort de réhabilitation du nazisme à travers votre travail dans Barbarossa Umtrunk ou du moins une présentation de celui-ci sous un jour parahistorique?

BvS: C’est un combat pour une authorité impériale légitime élue par les cieux. C’est le combat du “Saint Empire”, le combat que mènera Kalki à la fin des Temps, le combat pour le règne à venir de l’ordre et de la hierarchie subordonnés au Centre Suprème. Ce Combat, les Nazis ont tentés de le mener sans toutefois réussir dans leur entreprise. Temporellement, le Nazisme fut un combat contre le péril qui déja pesait sur l’Europe et qui aujourd’hui tire les ficelles de notre politique Européenne internationale. Comprendra qui voudra, ce fut le dernier sursaut avant la fin en attendant le moment ultime où les 7 trompettes gronderont du haut des cieux. Au travers de Barbarossa Umtrunk, je cherche avant tout à dévoiler certains mystères que l’histoire cherche généralement à cacher. Mon but n’est donc pas de réhabiliter le nazisme au sens propre mais bel et bien d’en présenter certains aspects méconnus. A chacun de juger ensuite… car je ne fais aucun prosélytisme à travers ma musique, j’essaie seulement d’éveiller une partie de mes auditeurs en leur dévoilant certaines arcanes à mystères de l’”Histoire Occulte” de l’humanité, qu’il ne tient qu’à eux d’approfondir selon leur bon-vouloir.

CwS: Au delà de l’Esotérisme Nazi, Barbarossa Umtrunk puise son inspiration dans les différents aspects de la Tradition. C’est cette capacité à raviver la Tradition à travers ces nombreuses influences ésotériques qui fait, à mon sens, de Barbarossa Umtrunk un groupe remarquable… Bien que brillamment évoqué à travers le prélude de l’album “Agharti”, j’aimerais vous poser la question ici: qu’est ce que la Tradition?

BvS: La Tradition telle qu’exprimée par l’ensemble de l’école “Traditionnelle” ou “Perenniste” c’est, pour reprendre la description de Guénon, le coeur ésotérique immuable de la spiritualité pure qui préside à ses différentes manifestations cycliques extérieurs. La Tradition est ainsi représentée analogiquement par une amande ou une noix dont le noyau symbolise l’ésotérisme qui siège à l’intérieur et au coeur même de la coquille qui pour sa part symbolise, elle, l’exotérisme. Donc pour Guénon, les différentes traditions et religions établies qui se sont manifestées au cours de l’Histoire remontent toutes à une même source unique et originelle qui fut de tous temps et au-delà même la Tradition Primordiale: enseignement initiatique suprême que symbolise le Graal dans son plein sens et dont l’Agartha, le Centre du Monde assure la garde sous l’égide du Roi du Monde qui préside au Gouvernement Occulte du Monde.

CwS: Donc si j’ai bien compris, si on opte pour une lecture occulte de l’Histoire, le Troisième Reich, avait pour volonté de remonter à cette Tradition Primordiale?
Ne s’accorde t-on pas pour dire que la Kabbale Juive est la première des Traditions ésotériques?

BvS: La Kabbale Juive n’est aucunement la première des Traditions Esotériques, elle n’en est qu’une revification particulière qui s’est développée assez tardivement, bien que je vous l’accorde, sa mythologie et la métahistoire la fassent remonter à des temps bien plus anciens. Mais c’est le cas dans toutes les traditions ésotériques, qui évoquent toutes un âge d’or où l’homme ne faisait qu’un avec Dieu et la connaissance même, et la Kabbale des Hébreux ne détient donc aucune exclusivité à cet égard, c’est une idée reçue. D’ailleurs, les Runes ont très certainement une origine bien plus ancienne qui témoigne d’une antique Tradition Primordiale, bien qu’elle soit perdue. Les Nazis ont tentés sous certains aspects de revivifier cette Tradition Primordiale Hyperboréene en cherchant à puiser à sa source. Le travail de crypto-archéologie que développèrent d’une part les groupes aryosophistes et d’autre part l’Ahnenerbe est à mon avis digne d’interêt et l’on retrouve presque une démarche similaire aujourd’hui dans ce qu’entreprends parfois le G.R.E.C.E (note de l’éditeur: Groupe de Recherche et d’Etudes de la Civilisation Europeenne). Il y a aussi un ouvrage sympa écrit par le Traditionaliste Espagnol Ernesto Milâ, qui traite des éléments antagonistes tout à la fois traditionnels et contre-initiatiques qui dessinèrent les fondements de l’Esoterisme Nazi. Le Zohar, tout comme la Merkaba ou “Littérature des Palais”, n’en sont pas moins des ouvrages dignes d’interêt pour qui s’interesse à l’anthropogenese, l’angéologie Enochienne, ou encore à la cosmogonie et aux temps antédiluviens.

CwS: Tradition est bien souvent affaire d’initiation. Comment en êtes-vous venu à découvrir celle-ci? Avez=vous été initié ou est-ce le fruit d’un travail personnel? Comment garder une ligne directrice au coeur de ce labyrinthe occulte?

BvS: J’en suis venu à découvrir la plénitude de son sens tout d’abord via les écrits de Guénon, puis par le biais de lectures annexes qui relèvent des domaines ésotériques et occultistes. L’essentiel pour tout “chercheur de vérité” est de ne jamais se perdre au cours de sa pérégrination et de sa quête toute “intérieure” en sélectionnant bien les voies qu’il décidera d’emprunter sa vie durant ici-bas car, quels que soient les chemins qu’on choisit, on avance constamment sur le fil du rasoir. Il faut pour cela, une connaissance forte de l’Histoire des Sociétés Secrètes et de ses diverses ramifications et tendances multiformes afin de mieux éviter ses pièges et de trouver l’orientation. J’ai moi-même reçu de par le passé plusieurs initiations authentiques et j’ai goûté à pas mal de râteliers, bien que je ne sois aujourd’hui attaché à aucune structure particulière. Mon orientation spirituelle puise en réalité tout le fondement de sa gnose opérative dans certaines littératures illuminatrices, qui de Jean Parvulesco à Gustav Meyrink, Miguel Serrano, Sohrawardi, Louis-Claude de St Martin et Raymond Abellio agissent sur l’Etre comme une œuvre d’art opératoire et initiatique au prix d’une sur-lecture intensive. Il suffit de lire “Le Visage Vert” de Meyrink pour comprendre de quoi je veux parler. Faire émerger en soi par ces techniques secrètes de palingenèse un “Nouvel Homme” transfiguré afin que surgisse à l’extérieur l’Etre intérieur et réintégrateur, libéré des miasmes et des iniquités de l’Espace-Temps, tel est le sens de ma quête auto-initiatique personnelle. A l’heure actuelle, ma recherche spirituelle s’oriente plus particulièrement autour des procédés opératifs que j’ai pu déchiffrer lors de mes lectures intensives des ouvrages de Raymond Abellio, sans oublier la méditation à travers les Runes ainsi que l’approfondissement de mon étude théorique des sciences Hermétiques et en particulier, de celles relatives aux Mystères souterrains et alchimiques des Titans Forgerons “Kabyres”.

René Guénon

CwS: Quels sont les aspects de la Tradition, légendes, personnages historiques et doctrines ésotériques que vous n’avez pas encore évoqués dans votre oeuvre et que vous souhaitez exploiter dans un futur proche? Ou en est cet album sur la figure du Général De Gaulle?

BvS: Comme je l’ai déjà dit, mon prochain split aux côtés d’Escuadron De La Muerte sera consacré au mythe des centrales occultes de l’Ordre Noir établi en Antarctique. Sur l’un des morceaux composé avec EDLM, je récite des passages du Réverand Père Martin, auteur du controversé roman à mystères “La Boucane, ou le Renversement contre l’Ordre Noir”, et des extraits sonores de discours de l’écrivain militant Wilhem Landig sont également exploités sur un titre. J’ai aussi fait un clin d’oeil, via mon projet parallèle Cydonia, à la Nouvelle Souabe sur le morceau qui ferme l’album “Sinus Medii” et qui annonçait en quelque sorte le split Barbarossa Umtrunk/Escadron De La Muerte qui doit suivre.
Un autre split bien différent, intitulé “La Clairière des Eaux Mortes”, cette fois-ci en compagnie de Pale Roses et Marc-Louis Questin, est en cours de conception et ne devrait plus tarder à être finalisé. Nous avons voulu rendre ici hommage dans toute leur gloire aux romans occultistes de Raoul de Warren. Enfin, je devrais entamer dans les mois qui viennent une collaboration avec Schattenspiel et Verney 1826 consacré au Comte Dracula. Quant à l’album complet qui devait tourner initialement autour de De Gaulle, il est bien avancé et j’ai finalement décidé d’élargir quelque peu ses thématiques. J’ai définitivement décidé de le nommer “La Fraternité Polaire” (et non plus, “Les Compagnons Secrets” comme c’était initialement prévu) en référence à la fameuse confrérie, dite de la “Fraternité des Polaires”, de Zam Bhotiva et surtout à l’”Ordre Polaire” dans son sens encore plus profond et plus voilé, invisible et impérial. Bien que je fasse néanmoins référence sur plusieurs morceaux à De Gaulle et à son “Ordre des 45″ dont nous parlent les écrivains J.Robin, R.P. Martin et J.Parvulesco. J’invoque aussi des figures de l’école “Traditionaliste” et historiens des “religions comparées” célèbres comme René Guénon, Mircea Eliade et Henry Corbin. Outre la participation de Schattenspiel sur deux anciens morceaux “Vive le Quebec Libre!” et “Les Noces Polaires”, qui étaient préalablement apparus sur notre split “La Couronne de Glace”, ce sont cette fois-ci les Allemands de Spreu & Weisen et l’Argentin Vir Martialis qui sont mes “invités d’honneur” sur plusieurs titres.
Les projets à venir par la suite sont d’or et déjà établis: tout d’abord j’ai décidé de consacrer une trilogie complète aux Mystères de Rennes-le-Château et à la lignée occulte des Rois Mérovingiens, ainsi qu’à toute la nébuleuse mythico ésotérique qui s’est construite autour de cette ténébreuse affaire et de cette région dont je suis littéralement tombé amoureux. J’alternerai, toutefois, ces albums d’influence “Castellrennais” avec d’autres opus qui devraient tourner autour de sujets d’inspiration différents bien que tout aussi fidèles aux concepts clés de Barbarossa Umtrunk: J’ai pour projet, entre autres, de consacrer un album complet à Raymond Abellio, de faire aussi quelque chose autour des Apparitions Mariales de Fatima et du “troisième secret” de Sainte Lucia dos Santos, ou encore de remonter jusqu’aux temps mythiques des tout débuts de l’age du fer, pour consacrer un disque à la Cimmérie protohistorique des Celtes antérieurs.

CwS: On a déjà parlé du Da Vinci Code plus haut et pour moi les mythes qui fondent Rennes-le-Château ou le Prioré de Sion offrent peu de matière à exploiter: entre les divagations mythomanes d’un Pierre Plantard qui a monté de toutes pièces “Les Dossiers Secrets d’Henri Lobineau” et qui se prétendait, excusez du peu, direct descendant du Christ et dernier représentant de la lignée Mérovingienne, les escroqueries d’un Abbé Saunière qui surtaxait des messes données à la chaîne à des audiences privées, et la littérature fumeuse, brouillonne, à la fantasmatique typiquement américaine, de Tracy Twyman dans le magazine Dagobert’s Revenge… A ce stade autant écrire un disque sur l’Ordre du Temple Solaire non?

BvS: Au contraire, les escroqueries dont vous parlez ne sont qu’une des fausses pistes parmi tant d’autres qui sillonent le parcours semé d’embuches qu’emprunte, malgré lui, le chercheur des mystères “Castellrennais”. Il y a certainement, derrière les mythomanies de Pierre Plantard et l’existence hypothétique du Prieuré de Sion, un mystère bien plus inavouable et nous sommes encore loin d’avoir découvert la vérité sur ce qui se cache derrière ces manipulations occultes qui fermentèrent le mythe du Trésor de Rennes lorsqu’à la fin des années 60, Gérard de Sede, manipulé par Plantard, dévoila au grand jour l’affaire du “Curé aux Milliards” et de son trésor maudit. Parmi l’abondante littérature et les nombreuses extrapolations qui entourent cette affaire, si on prend le temps d’étudier en profondeur le sujet et qu’on sait y déceler la bonne graine de la mauvaise, on peut s’attendre à y découvrir de nombreux thèmes symboliques trés riches car le Razès est une région chargée d’Histoire sacrée et où les égrégores sont très puissants. En somme, pour apprécier à leur juste valeur les mystères entourant l’église de Rennes-le-Château et sa région, sans être “trompés”, il faut aimer le goût du rébus et de l’enquête et connaitre l’Histoire et l’ésotérisme sur le bout des doigts. J’aimerais aussi préciser qu’il n’y a jamais eu de trafic de messe dans cette affaire et, qu’encore une fois, il s’agit ici de fabulations. Les livres que Jean Robin a écrit sur le sujet permettent d’aborder le thème avec un regard d’ensemble qui s’attache à une interprétation “guénonienne” du phénomène, ils sont donc fortement conseillés pour qui veut aborder avec sérieux cette enquête à caractère “initiatique”. Sur mes 3 albums traitant de Rennes-le-Château, je n’ai d’ailleurs pas prévu de m’attarder plus que cela autour de l’affaire “Plantard” et j’aimerais remonter dans le temps, évoquer des moments clés de l’Histoire de France et du Pouvoir Royal invisible et secret, que Rennes-le-Château soit en quelque sorte la couverture qui me permette de traiter de sujets historiques, ésotériques et littéraires variés qui lui sont liés: Volkes Tectosages, Wisigoths, Cathares, Templiers, Sociètes Secrètes parisiennes de la Belle Epoque, rituels Rose-Croix et para-maçonniques, ou encore toute cette littérature à clés “bien de chez nous” qui de Maurice Leblanc à Gaston Leroux en passant par Maurice Barrès et Jules Verne est étroitement liée à l’enigme du Trésor de Rennes.

CwS: Dans le même ordre d’idée, quels sont à votre avis les principales places magiques en France? Quelle est la place selon vous de la France dans les traditions occultes?

BvS: Dans ma réponse précédente, je vous parlais du site Rennes-le-Château qui est pour moi La Capitale “invisible” de France (on notera d’ailleurs qu’elle est traversée par le Méridien de Paris). Je m’intéresse à la Géographie Sacrée à travers le monde et il est indéniable que le Royaume de France possède de nombreux sites chargés d’Histoire qui du Razès au Verdon, de Brocéliande à Montségur, en passant par la nécropole de Bibracte sur le Mont Beauvray, Chartres, Etretat ou encore Notre-Dame de Paris sont tous des lieux qui dans l’invisible sont rattachés au Centre Suprême. Comment ne pas faire allusion aussi à une certaine contre-littérature bien de chez nous qui, de Maurice Barrès auteur de “la Colline Envoûtée”, roman en étroite connexion avec l’affaire de Rennes-le-Château, ou encore Gaston Leroux qui a admirablement traité des dessous “Agarthiens” de la capitale dans “le Fantôme de l’Opéra” et “le Roi Mystère”. Et si les égrégores puissants pullulent dans l’Hexagone ce n’est par hasard, car la France est un lieu magique et prédestiné. C’est en France qu’apparaîtra le Grand Monarque qui rétablira le “Regnum Sanctum” palingénésique final et il y a fort à parier que les mystères qui entourent la région de Rennes-le-Château soient liés à cette prophétie. Dans le voisinage de Rennes, se trouve la Montagne de Bugarach, Montagne sacrée et “polaire” que certains ont pu comparés à l’Agartha, études traditionnelles poussées à l’appui, bien qu’hélas ces assertions aient par la suite été récupérées et détournées de leur vrai symbolisme par les sectes et mouvements “New Age” qui occupent illégitimement le pic en attendant pathétiquement les événements du 21 Décembre 2012. Abellio nous avait prévenu qu’à la fin des temps, les faux prophètes seront légion qui singeront les vrais Guides à venir encore occultés du monde et le “phénomène Bugarach” en est la preuve à l’appui.

Château de Montségur

CwS: René Guénon est un des premiers occidentaux à avoir consacré son oeuvre à la Tradition, hors, et comme le souligne Jean Parvulesco dans “La Spirale Prophétique”, la lecture de René Guénon peut s’avérer désespérante par son absence de constructivisme: Guénon réfute tout en bloc sans jamais vraiment proposer d’alternative. Qu’en pensez-vous et à votre avis comment est-il possible de vivre en accord avec la Tradition dans le monde moderne?

BvS: La lecture de Guénon à cet avantage qu’elle apporte une base très forte au chercheur concernant la métaphysique pure, la notion originelle de Tradition et le Symbolisme mais au bout du parcours, elle ne nous livre pourtant pas les clés opératives pour qui veut vivre pleinement la “Tradition” dans son sens initiatique et transcendant.
C’est pourquoi, j’ai pu trouver dans le travail préconisé par Gurdjieff et Ouspensky tout comme dans celui d’Evola dans “Chevaucher le Tigre”, des pistes théoriques et pratiques intéressantes à suivre. Les livres de Parvulesco et toutes les influences qu’il y glisse m’ont eux aussi étés d’une aide fort précieuse dans ma quête spirituelle. J’aimerais aussi évoquer les écrits d’Henry Corbin, spécialiste des gnoses Iraniennes, Zoroastriennes, Cathares et Templières grâce à qui j’ai pu découvrir les écrits du théosophe Iranien Sohrawardi et de la secte gnostique Ismaélienne des “Assassins”. J’ai aussi assimilé à ma mythologie personnelle les précieux enseignements “Cosmosophiques” de S.U. Zanne qui fut “Hiérophante de l’Ordre Royal de Melchisédech” autour des années 1900. Plus récemment c’est la “Nouvelle Gnose” opérative incluse dans les livres de Raymond Abellio qui oriente mon cheminement et ma pratique ésotérique personnelle, aussi bien sur le plan actif que contemplatif. Raymond Abellio proclame “La Gnose est solaire, virile, diurne, apollinienne, aristocratique. La mystique est au contraire, chtonienne, féminine, nocturne, dionysiaque, démocratique.” Il s’exprime encore en ces termes: “Nous voici à l’époque où une humanité qui fut longtemps passive sous l’enseignement de ses tuteurs ré-invente réellement d’elle-même ce qui lui fut enseigné et transforme ses réflexes appris en pouvoirs propres, afin que surgisse de son “sacrifice” une humanité nouvelle, douée par une mutation globale de nouveaux et puissants instincts.” La voie métaphysique qu’il préconise ici colle merveilleusement à mes propres aspirations et conceptions mystiques du moment. Le dicton de Maître Eckart “Ce ne sont pas nos actes qui nous sanctifient, c’est nous qui sanctifions nos actes” correspond lui aussi à l’idée que je me fais de la façon de vivre la “Tradition” dans le monde moderne. J’essaie au final à travers une méditation intellectuelle intensive sur les façons de procéder préconisées par Abellio d’opérer cette mutation en moi.

Raymond Abellio

Au delà de la lecture intensive d’Abellio, j’étudie, je pratique et j’expérimente aussi un certain nombre de techniques dites magiques, rituelles, alchimiques ou méditatives comme le Tantrisme, le Yoga runique, la magie Enochienne, le travail du souffle à partir des mantras, des runes et de la technique respiratoire dite de l’”Itlaq” empruntée aux derviches de Turquie. Les opuscules de Bernard Fréon/René de Lhamort qui nous entretiennent au sujet des voies alchimiques du Phénix et du Soleil Noir m’ont aussi livrés un certain nombre de clés opératives et de méthodes théurgiques fort riches pour qui veut, par une transmutation interne, entamer la réalisation du corps de gloire immortel du Soleil Noir. J’ai aussi utilisé à plusieurs reprises, dans un but divinatoire, l’Oracle de Force astrale des Polaires aux prédictions basées sur les résultats de calculs plutôt pénibles et compliqués mais qui lui donnent néanmoins un certain charme cela dit, et j’ai aussi pratiqué en “solitaire”, de par le passé, les rituels publiés par Sebottendorf. Il me tarde aussi de m’attaquer, rien que pour le “fun”, à la pratique opérative de la Grande Cabale des Mages ou “Telescope de Zoroastre”, un ouvrage théosophique au procédé cabalistique et divinatoire étrange rédigé par Andréa de Nerciat l’auteur du “Diable au Corps” et dont la traduction allemande eu un certain succès dans les milieux aryosophistes au début du siècle dernier. Pour finir, je tenais à préciser que le minimum pour qui veut étudier la “Tradition” c’est aussi et avant tout d’étudier les textes sacrés (Zohar, Bible, Coran, Baghavad-Gîtâ, Râmâyana ou encore Zend Avesta) afin d’y déceler les vérités cachées derrière la lettre apparente. Il s’agit aussi d’assimiler la cosmologie Celtique et Nordique, de se tenir au courant du contenu des littératures énochiennes et autres apocryphes gnostiques Coptes, Esseniens ou encore Séthiens et Sabéens comme l’incontournable “Pistis Sophia”, et en dernier lieu d’orienter son regard du côté des antiques “Rites à Mystères” et de la Sagesse des Oracles hélleniques.

CwS: Barbarassa Umtrunk est donc bien plus qu’un simple projet musical. Est-ce que vous imaginez, le temps et l’expérience aidant, développer votre propre doctrine sur d’autres supports/médias?

BvS: J’aime que l’Art soit abordé sous différents médias, ca ne peut-être qu’enrichissant. Pour l’instant, la musique me convient parfaitement, car je n’ai pas le temps et les moyens nécéssaires pour développer Barbarossa Umtrunk sous d’autres angles. Ma prochaine étape, c’est d’abord le “live”, mais j’aimerais aussi collaborer avec des vrais réalisateurs de clips vidéos pour illustrer ma musique ou bien même composer des bandes-sons pour des courts-métrages experimentaux à caractère ésotérique. J’en appelle donc aux vidéastes interessés qui liraient ces lignes…

CwS: Nous avons évoqué Parvulesco et je dois vous remercier car c’est à travers Barbarossa que j’ai découvert cet auteur très méconnu. Quel est pour vous l’ouvrage de référence de Parvulesco? en quoi est-il une influence majeure dans votre travail?

BvS: “La Spirale Prophétique” est l’ouvrage que je conseille à ceux qui veulent découvrir Parvulesco. S’ils accrochent et qu’ils veulent approfondir leur découverte se son œuvre, ils peuvent acheter n’importe lequel de ses livres les yeux fermés. J’ai parmi ses nombreux romans initiatiques un faible particulier pour “l’Etoile de l’Empire Invisible” et un “Bal Masqué à Genève” mais au fond tous ses livres, aussi sulfureux qu’ils soient, sont bons et dévoilent une gnose opérative solaire et virile fort intéressante. J’ai à de nombreuses reprises empruntées des passages de ses livres pour confectionner mes textes car j’ai toujours trouvé que sa prose et ses thèmes correspondaient totalement aux atmosphères musicales que je développe. Je suis aussi en totale adéquation avec ses positions métapolitiques et sa vision gnostique du monde. Et puis utiliser ses textes pour illustrer ma musique est aussi un bon moyen de faire découvrir son œuvre bien trop méconnu ici-bas. Il semble donc que j‘ai en partie réussit mon pari. Je conseille d’ailleurs à mes auditeurs qui auraient eux aussi découverts et appréciés l’oeuvre littéraire de Jean Parvulesco de jeter un oeil aux livres de Jean Robin ou encore de Jean-Marc Tisserant qui eux aussi dans leurs oeuvres littéraires respectives cernent à merveille et nous dévoilent en pleine face le visage obscur et la stratégie ténébreuse des forces contre-initiatiques nauséabondes qui dirigent dans l’ombre, en ces temps de la Fin…

Raymond Abellio & Jean Parvulesco

CwS: Gurdjieff est aussi une autre influence majeure de Barbarossa Umtrunk. Je dois avouer que, bien que l’avoir découvert à un très jeune âge, je ne suis jamais parvenu à aller au bout des récits de Belzébuth… Comment se traduit son influence dans Barbarossa? Que vous a apporté sa doctrine qui mêle toutes sortes de traditions de l’orphisme en passant par le christianisme primitif? Et qu’avez vous à dire sur son statut très controversé? D’aucuns le considère comme un charlatan de la pire espèce…

BvS: J’ai découvert les écrits du mage arménien Georges Ivanovitch Gurdjieff il y a quelques années à la lecture de “Rencontre avec des Hommes Remarquables”qui malgré son ton “bon enfant” et excentrique m’a profondément marqué puis j’ai vu le film de Peter Brouke qui est une très belle adaptation du roman suscité. J’ai ensuite tenté de m’aventurer dans la lecture des “Récits de Belzébuth à son petit-fils” et pour vous rassurer, je n’ai moi même pas pu le lire en entier. Je garde toutefois un bon souvenir d’un certain nombre de passages de cet ouvrage à prendre comme un recueil de contes initiatiques farfelus et de paraboles de sagesse, à mi chemin entre le réel et le légendaire un peu à la façon des Mille et Une Nuits. G.I. Gurdjieff a un style particulier qui dévoile un caractère et une personnalité excentrique et même parfois culottée. Il hérita d’un talent de conteur et de comédien qui remonte à sa tradition familiale, car ses aïeux furent de tout temps des “Ashokhs”, ces bardes locaux d’antan qu’on pouvait rencontrer des Balkans jusqu’à la “Route de la Soie” et dont la tradition perdure toujours aujourd’hui dans les régions Altaïques qui longent le fleuve Syr-Daria. Il développa au sein de son groupe de Chercheurs de Vérité une méthode de développement harmonique de l’Homme, la “4ème voie” qui est celle de “l’Homme Rusé” et dont nous a entretenu plus tard Ouspensky dans “Fragments d’un Enseignement Inconnu”. L’étonnant Mr Gurdjieff a aussi dévoilé à l’Occident les arcanes secrets de l’Enneagramme, la science des 9 points des pères du désert qui est, selon les termes de Oscar Ichazo, “une science du développement humain”.

Cette figure géométrique symbolique est en effet le support d’une connaissance qui se décline en une grille de neuf typologies de sagesse lesquelles ont été perverties en autant de maladies de l’âme. L’Enneagramme est un outil psychologique et pédagogique pratique très intéressant à utiliser à notre époque pour apprendre, tout d’abord à se connaître soi-même, puis ensuite à connaître les autres du plus profond de leur “Etre”. Pour en revenir au récit narratif de “Rencontre avec des Hommes Remarquables”, ce que j’avais apprécié à sa lecture c’est qu’il nous plonge en plein coeur de toutes ces confréries mystiques d’Asie Centrale, des monts Altaï et du Caucase qui me fascinent comme les Yazawis parents des Bektashis dont j’ai déjà parlé plus haut à propos de Sebottendorf, les Yezidis communément désignés comme “the Devil worshippers” qui rendent un culte à Melek-Tawus/Lucifer, les Ismaéliens Nusayris/Hashishins descendants d’Hassan I Sabbah ou encore les mystérieux Ahl-e Haqq, ces “Fidèles de Verité” qui résident en secret au Mont Elbrouz et qu’on dit descendre d’Azazel en personne. Mr Gurdjieff nous raconte avec beaucoup de talent ses propres mésaventures de jeunesse dans sa région d’enfance entourée de cavernes et de galeries souterraines autour du fleuve Syr-Daria, anciennement dénommé “Oxus” et qu’Alexandra David-Neel et Rudolf Steiner ont voulus rapprocher de l’emplacement originel de Shambhala. Cette allusion à la Géographie Sacrée et à Shambhala est curieuse lorsque l’on songe à l’attention toute particulière que Gurdjieff accordait à la mystérieuse “Confrérie Sarmoung” de laquelle il aurait reçu une bonne partie de ses connaissances ( parabole dans son propre langage de la “Grande Loge Blanche” des Théosophes, de l’Agartha et de Shambhala et héritière selon lui de l’antique sagesse que détenaient aux temps antédiluviens du “déluge d’avant le déluge” les hauts initiés d’une confrérie nommée “Imastum”). Signalons qu’au cours de sa vie mouvementée, il aurait prit contact avec des Sages ascètes du mont Athos ainsi que diverses confréries de derviches “Yasawis” et “Naqshbandis” établies dans les contrées turques.

Georges Ivanovitch Gurdjieff

Ses mésaventures qui s’ensuivirent en France au monastère de Fointainebleau-Avon (qui pour l’anecdote fut l’un des seuls centres “Occultes” et “Spiritualistes” à ne pas être fermée durant l’Occupation Allemande.) et plus particulièrement l’affaire qui l’a tenu responsable du suicide de Katherine Mansfield tiennent plus de médisances qu’on a voulu à son égard que d’un regard objectif sur le personnage. Certains furent même tentés de sous entendre qu’il aurait été de par son emprise, je cite, “vampirique” sur ces disciples, jusqu’à étouffer entre autres les impulsions créatrices du musicien De Harttman dont on connaît pourtant la qualité évidente du résultat de ses collaborations étroites avec Mr Gurdjieff. Et puis sans Gurdjieff aurions-nous eu la chance de voire éclore sur le sol Français des spirituels et orientalistes vraiment sincères de grande envergure comme Arnaud Desjardin et de nombreux autres personnalités célèbres qui sont passés par le Monastère d’Avon. Alors certes, Guénon fut méfiant à l’égard de Mr Gurdjieff (comme il le fut également concernant la Société Théosophique de Blavatsky), Evola de son côté s’exprima plutôt positivement au sujet du personnage, je me permets de le citer car son analyse du phénomène Gurdjieff cerne à merveille le potentiel puissant que contient la voie de l’”Homme Rusé”, malgré le travail intense d’autosacrifice préconisé qu’il convient d’opérer pour aboutir à l’Eveil et être libéré de tout conditionnement extérieur:
“Quel message annonçait Gurdjieff? Un message pour le moins déconcertant. Peu d’hommes “existent”, peu ont une âme “immortelle”. Certains d’entre eux possèdent le germe, lequel peut être développé. En règle générale, on ne possède pas un “Moi” de naissance: il faut l’acquérir. Ceux qui n’y parviennent pas se dissolvent à leur mort. “Une infime partie d’entre eux sont parvenus à avoir une âme.”
L’homme de la rue n’est qu’une simple machine. Il vit à l’état de sommeil, comme hypnotisé. Il croit agir, penser, alors qu’il est “agi”. Ce sont des impulsions, des réflexes, des influences de tous ordres qui agissent en lui. Il n’a pas d’”être”. Les manières de Gurdjieff n’avaient rien de délicat: “Vous pas comprendre, vous idiot complet, vous merdité”, disait-il souvent dans son mauvais français à ceux qui l’approchaient. De Katherine Mansfield, morte lors d’un séjour dans son ermitage d’Avon en quête de la “voie”, Gurdjieff déclara: “Moi pas connaître”, voulant signifier par là que la morte n’était rien, qu’elle n’”existe” pas… Il ne faut pas s’étonner si certains de ceux qui ont suivi Gurdjieff dans cette voie sont allés au devant de crises extrêmement graves, bouleversant leur équilibre mental au point de prendre la fuite ou de se rappeler avec terreur de pareilles expériences où ils avaient eu quasiment l’impression de vivre la mort. Quant à ceux qui ont résisté à l’épreuve et persisté dans le “travail sur soi” auprès de Gurdjieff, ils parlent d’un incomparable sentiment de sécurité et d’un nouveau sens donné à leur existence.”
Ou encore: “Gurdjieff se contentait de quelques heures de sommeil: on l’appelait “celui qui ne dort pas”. Il alternait un mode de vie quasiment spartiate avec des banquets d’une opulence russo-orientale disparue depuis longtemps. En 1934, il fut victime d’un accident d’automobile très grave: il resta trois jours dans le coma mais reprit connaissance aussitôt et parut avoir rajeuni, comme si le choc physique, au lieu de léser son organisme, l’avait galvanisé”
J’apprécie, on s’en doutera, le regard qu’Evola porte sur Gurdjieff et sur le potentiel positif des méthodes d’éveil que ce dernier préconisait dans sa doctrine.

George Ivanovitch Gurdjieff

CwS: Oui je dois avouer que la littérature de Gurdjieff m’accompagne maintenant depuis des années et j’y trouve toujours de nouvelles choses… Mais comme c’est le cas avec tous les grands penseurs, le personnage m’intéresse autant, sinon plus parfois, que l’oeuvre, et je trouve à ce titre la lecture de Mr. Gurdjieff de Pauwels assez intéressante. Je pense que Gurdjieff était réellement détenteur d’un “Enseignement Inconnu”, doublé d’un charisme et d’un talent de conteur hors-pair, en revanche il n’a pas pu s’empêcher de profiter de la bêtise de ses ouailles qui s’en remettaient corps et biens à sa personne… Chose somme toute assez compréhensible et j’en viens à me demander si tout ascendant spirituel que l’on peut exercer sur quelqu’un ne s’accompagne pas toujours de quelque abus de pouvoir typiquement humain, qu’en pensez-vous?

BvS: Un maitre qui se laisse aller à ce type penchants n’est en réalité plus un maitre spirituel accompli puisqu’il reste attaché à des intérêts typiquements humains et matériels, et il devient donc un charlatan, un “guru” pour utiliser la terminologie moderne. Mais bon, comme je l’ai déja souligné plus haut, le cas Gurdjieff est un peu plus compliqué. Ce type de manipulation de l’individu se retrouve d’ailleurs très souvent dans les sectes modernes et dans les milieux plus fermés de la “Contre-Initiation”où de “faux” maitres spirituels vampirisent le psychisme de leurs disciples aveuglés par les beaux discours ou encore par le charisme qui n’est qu’apparent des pseudo-enseignements secrets divulgués.

CwS: quels sont pour vous les 5 ouvrages de référence pour un néophyte qui souhaiterait étudier la Tradition?

BvS: La réponse à votre question n’est pas évidente et m’a demandé une sélection ardue des cinq titres essentiels parmi les nombreux ouvrages écrits sur le sujet et dignes d’être étudiés. J’ai finalement sélectionné les ouvrages qui me semblent parmi les plus adéquates pour bien débuter l’étude de la Tradition dans ses grandes lignes:

CwS: Bien qu’officiellement apolitique, il est clair que Barbarossa Umtrunk affiche une appartenance certaine aux valeurs de la droite nationaliste anti-sioniste et anti-maçonnique. Selon vous, ces convictions politiques vont elles de pair avec l’étude de la Tradition? Peut-on s’intéresser à la Tradition et être de gauche? Quel regard portez vous sur la géopolitique actuelle? Pensez vous que l’âge du kali yuga arrive à terme?

BvS: La notion de Tradition rime forcément avec le respect de la hiérarchie donc de l’Ordre, dans son sens le plus noble et le plus pur. Mais la Tradition, puisqu’elle est hiérarchiquement au dessus de la politique, en est néanmoins détaché et au-delà même de ces antagonismes politiques droite/gauche. Elle peut néanmoins être en toute étroite corrélation avec des valeurs métapolitiques révolutionnaires et/ou réactionnaires, elles-mêmes orientées dans un sens traditionnel. Pour exemple, l’oeuvre de Julius Evola et celle d’Oswald Spengler ont certains points communs et se complètent même plutôt bien. C’est aussi cette alliance du “spirituel” et du “temporel” qu’a représentée le Saint Empire et qu’incarnait l’idéologie Gibeline. Les Traditionalistes ou chercheurs en ésotérisme se réclamant de la Tradition Primordiale et de l’école Perreniste évoluent donc généralement dans des sphères politiques conservatrices, révolutionnaires et de droite et bien souvent même tout cela à la fois! La mention “apolitique” date de l’époque où G.C. était encore dans le groupe. J’ai, depuis, clairement affirmé à travers de précédentes interviews certaines de mes affinités avec des tendances idéologiques de la droite radicale, sans toutefois promouvoir un quelconque parti politique officiel. Mais je ne dément pas mon soutien aux milieux N.R. hexagonaux, mon intérêt pour l’école de la Nouvelle Droite ou l’Eurasisme de Douguine. Je ferais en dernier lieu un petit salut personnel aux militants du P.S.F. qui sont, pour moi, les derniers vrais “socialistes”, au sens noble du terme, et qui méritent qu’on les soutienne.

J’aimerais également connaitre ton avis sur la situation actuelle en Syrie?

BvS: Je Parlais des Nationalistes-Révolutionnaires et, concernant le P.S.F., il s’agit du “Parti Solidaire Français”, un jeune mouvement socialiste et nationaliste, anciennement dénommé “Droite Socialiste”. La situation en Syrie parle d’elle même, c’est toujours le même scénario qui se répète. Le fléau Islamiste téléguidé par l’USIsrael allié au Qatar cherche à etouffer la Syrie parce que Bachar Al-Assad est encore de ces non-alignés qui resistent au Nouvel Ordre Mondial. Les traitres de médias français ou les abjects organismes humanitaires comme “Médecins sans frontières” et surtout nos chefs d’état, sont en réalité de pures enflures qui se moquent de nous et prouvent encore une fois leur hypocrisie. Il suffit de lire le dernier slogan bidon des militants “rouges” bobos du N.P.A. placardé sur les murs parisiens: “Bachar dégage”, ca m’a donné envie de vomir….
Concernant l’état actuel du Kali-Yuga, sur un plan strictement spirituel on ne trouve de nos jours plus que des faux “gourous” qui singent les prophètes et hiérophantes d’antan et à venir. Les pseudo gourous “New Age”, qui ont mal digérés la Théosophie de Blavatsky et qui usent comme parole d’évangile des ouvrages de Mikhael Aivanhov, d’Edgar Cayce ou autres charlatans de l’ésotérisme ambiant, abusant au final des âmes faibles et se multipliant comme des cafards. Nous sommes dans l’age de la multiplicité qui est en train d’atteindre son paroxysme. Il n’existe plus de vrais guides, de voies authentiques, plus d’initiation valable. Peut-être aussi parce qu’il n’en est plus l’heure, que nous sommes déjà arrivés à la fin d’un Grand Cycle cosmique dans l’attente d’un nouveau à venir et la transition risque d’être dure, on dit que le Grand Monarque, le Saoshyant, Kalki, le Madhi ou XIIeme Imam, ce Cavalier Blanc et chef d’armée transfuge du Roi du Monde qui surgira de Shambhala/Qaf à la fin des temps pour combattre l’Iniquité et restaurer l’Ordre sera de la classe des Kshatryas.

Raymond Abellio / Vers un nouveau Prophétisme

Raymond Abellio dans son ouvrage “Vers un nouveau Prophétisme”, développe l’idée d’un nouveau type d’homme transfiguré, polaire, au delà du bien et du mal et de tout antagonisme, un homme ancré dans l’action mais néanmoins détaché de ses fruits, un homme, pour paraphraser Evola, encore “debout au milieu des ruines”. C’est ce nouveau type d’homme transfiguré, celui du guerrier pacifié qui assurera la garde du Graal spirituel en ces temps diluviens en attendant le retour des Grands Temps, l’Apokatastasis où alors, des prophètes authentiques( ré-)apparaîtront et guideront les survivants post-diluviens, lorsque l’aube aura succédé au Crépuscule des Dieux. Ce Crépuscule des Dieux, que l’humanité vit en ce moment même tout en l’ignorant, arrive bientôt à son chapitre final, à cet effroyable renversement des pôles qui ne devrait plus tarder.
L’Apocalypse s’est déjà enclenché, le 21 Décembre 2012 n’est qu’une parabole, nous sommes déjà entrés dans l’ère du grand solstice d’Hiver Cosmique de la fin, ou bien peut-être s’agit-il plus encore de cette Nuit de Walpurgis cosmique qu’évoquait si bien Gustav Meyrink dans son roman du même nom: “Chaque année, le 30 avril, revient la Nuit de Walpurgis. Cette nuit-là, selon la croyance populaire, le peuple des fantômes est libéré de ses chaînes. Il y aussi des nuits de Walpurgis cosmiques, Excellence! Elles se succèdent à des intervalles trop longs pour que l’humanité puisse s’en souvenir, c’est pourquoi on les considère chaque fois comme un phénomène nouveau, jamais encore expérimenté… Maintenant s’annonce une de ces nuits de Walpurgis cosmiques.”

Alors 30 Avril ou 21 Décembre? Peu importe, car l’iniquité est déjà reine de ce monde moderne infecté jusqu’à la moelle. Et en ces temps obscurs qui vont suivre, il ne sera plus question de politique, il en est d’ailleurs de moins en moins question car la fin est irrémédiable, suffit-il d’observer l’hypocrisie actuelle concernant cette “illusoire” Crise économique fabriquée de toutes pièces et qui nous entraîne subversivement dans une chute sans retour, ou encore les tempêtes solaires toujours plus puissantes qui risquent à tout instant de provoquer un “black-out” mondial et des catastrophes aux conséquences dramatiques. On sent aussi la guerre civile éclater à tout bout de champ, et la question essentielle et cruciale qui vient à l’esprit devient alors celle du “Survivalisme”, car il s’agit aujourd’hui de se préparer au pire à venir. Le concept de B.A.D. élaboré par Serge Ayoub, Michel Drac, et M.Thibaud, le livre “Survivre a l’Effondrement Economique” de Piero San Giorgio sont en cela des armes salvatrices, une lumière d’espoir pour qu’apparaissent et subsistent les Gardiens, “debout au milieu des ruines”, qui veilleront sur le Graal dans la dernière nuit à venir. La Fin approche, demain sera l’Age des Loups! Il faut désormais nous y préparer…

CwS: D’Aleister Crowley en passant par Gurdjieff mais aussi bien sûr le baron von sebottendorf, de nombreux personnages occultes du XXème siècle étaient également étroitement mêlés aux services secrets… faut-il y voir une lecture occulte de l’histoire ignorées par les masses? Peut-on en déduire que les civilisations se font et se défont sur des trames bien plus occultes qu’il n’y parait et qu’une histoire invisible évolue en parallèle?

BvS: Oui bien sûr, c’est tout à fait ça! On se souvient que Jean Marques Rivière, éminent orientaliste spécialiste du tantrisme et chef de la Police Secrète sous la Collaboration qui appartint un temps à la Société des “Polaires”, proclamait: “Les ésotéristes, par leur puissance d’action sur les plans idéologiques mènent le monde”. Pierre Mariel (auteur de “Le Nazisme, Société Secrète”) allait dans le même sens: “En réalité, de tout temps et maintenant plus que jamais- les sociétés secrètes mènent le monde.”
Dans l’introduction à son ouvrage, “Le Véritable Secret des Rois de France”, Arnaud de l’Estoile s’exprime lui-même en ces termes qui décrivent bien cette notion d’une Histoire invisible, d’une “mésohistoire” tenant elle-même de la “hierohistoire” à laquelle elle est subordonnée et où de mystérieuses confréries synarchiques secrètes tirent les ficelles dans l’ombre
“Il existe une face nocturne, véritable part d’ombre de l’histoire humaine. Cette “troisième histoire” est une histoire secrète qui ne dispose d’aucune chaire officielle et qui n’est enseignée nulle part. En effet l’histoire révélée et l’histoire critique ont leurs limites, laissant le champ libre à cette “troisième histoire”: l’histoire cachée. Celle-ci, sorte d’échelle de Jacob, passe de l’exotérique à l’ésotérique en transitant par le mésotérique, c’est à dire, selon Gurdjieff, le moyen terme entre l’exotérique et l’ésotérique.”
Je ne m’étendrais pas sur le “Protocole des Sages de Sion”, ce faux qui selon Evola n’en est pas néanmoins teinté d’authenticité et qui mérite une certaine attention, je ne m’attarderais pas non plus sur les “7 têtes du Dragon Vert” de Pierre Mariel et autres “72″ qui relèvent, pour leur part, plus du mythe et de la propagande “conspirationiste” que de la réalité. Toutefois, de la Société du Lézard aux Illuminés de Bavière en passant par les Synarchistes ou encore la Société de Thulé, on ne peut nier que nombreuses furent les sociétés secrètes actives qui agissent dans l’ombre et parfois même rivalisent au cours de l’Histoire pour obtenir les rennes du pouvoir occulte “temporel”. Mais, n’oublions pas que sur le plan des principes, seul est authentique le Gouvernement Occulte du Monde qui siège au sein du Centre Suprême initiatique nommé Agartha, situé au “Centre de la Terre” et dirigé par le Roi du Monde.

Car il n’existe Traditionnellement qu’une seule autorité royale légitime qui est celle du “Manu” de notre cycle, pour reprendre la terminologie Sanskrite, qui veille et règne invisiblement sur le monde jusqu’à la fin de notre cycle d’occultation. De nombreuses traditions anciennes comme d’autres plus contemporaines évoquent aussi le “Collège Invisible” des frères de la Rose-Croix, le “Conseil des Neuf” ou encore la “Grande Loge Blanche” des Maîtres de Sagesse d’Asie centrale qui occupent la même fonction législatrice. Comment ne pas évoquer alors sa contrefaçon renversée, cette Agartha “noire” dont nous entretint Jean-Paul Bourre dans ses ouvrages sur le vampirisme ou bien, pour être encore plus précis, comment ne pas songer aussi à ces “7 Tours du Diable”, centrales occultes du mal sur terre, au sujet desquelles René Guénon semblait si bien informé. Cette idée d’une contrefaçon parodique et “à rebours” du mythe de l’Agartha et du “Roi du Monde” qui devient dans le cas présent le “Prince de ce Monde”, c’est à dire Satan, nous permet de mieux comprendre la source inspiratrice de nos gouvernements corrompus qui croient s’approprier la réelle Autorité Spirituelle et Temporelle, bien qu’en réalité ils ne font que la “singer” abusivement. Les Technocrates modernes ne sont en fait que des “Maroutes” téléguidés et contrôlés par les forces invisibles de la contre-initiation, ce ne sont rien moins que des Sorciers noirs des temps modernes qui s’ignorent, bien qu’ils usent en toute “conscience” de nouvelles techniques métapsychiques de manipulation et d’abrutissement des masses. Abellio disait que le Technocrate européen moderne sera l’initiateur de nouvelles formes de domination qui auront lieu aux USA à la fin des temps prédiluviens.
Cela laisse à penser que l’âge des Sorciers n’est pas tout entier derrière nous et que le peuple est devenu le champ d’application d’une “Haute Magie Noire” fascinatrice, tendant à le transformer en bétail sans âme. Ces Technocrates synarchistes vont à l’encontre des préceptes même de la Synarchie originelle de St Yves d’Alveydre qui envisageait la mise en place d’un “gouvernement humain idéal”, dont le pouvoir universel serait exercé par un Souverain Pontife authentique rattaché au Centre Suprême et détenteur de l’autorité tout à la fois spirituelle et temporelle. Ces Technocrates noirs des temps modernes sont donc dans l’ombre ce que la sub-culture “Conspirationiste” désigne sous le dénominatif bien connu d’”Illuminatis”. On assiste ainsi aujourd’hui à un total détournement du concept originel de la “Synarchie” et du Mouvement Synarchique d’Empire opéré scrupuleusement et malicieusement par les milieux de la Haute Finance. On constatera d’ailleurs l’emprise et l’influence occulte exercée par les activités diaboliques cachées de la Franc-Maçonnerie “officielle” et de nombreuses autres organisations oligarchiques et contre-initiatiques comme les “Skull & Bones”, “Junkers”, “Bilderbergs” et autres “Dîner du Siècle”, qui tentent, illégitimement et sans aucun complexes, de s’approprier le contrôle du pouvoir “occulte” sur le monde. Ces Sociétés Secrètes sans scrupules et le pôle d’influences négatif qu’elles servent ne sont toutefois qu’une parodie de la vrai centrale Agarthienne immuable, imprenable et inaccessible aux profanes et contre-initiés dans leur genre.

De tous temps, des organisations dans l’ombre ont cherchés à tirer les ficelles du destin mondial, que ce soit de manière légitime ou illégitime, il suffit d’observer les agissements occultes et métapolitiques des Templiers et des Assassins du temps des croisades pour s’en convaincre. Les Sociétés Secrètes ont ensuite à nouveau indéniablement joués un rôle manifeste de l’Occident à l’Extrême-Orient, des Rose-croix à la Triade, de la Franc-Maçonnerie aux Ordres Soufis, l’Histoire a sans cesse retenu l’influence et l’infiltration occulte qu’ont exercés ces organisations secrètes sur les pouvoirs en place. De nos jours, ces sociétés dans l’ombre ont bien souvent été mêlés aux services secrets. Si l’on tourne notre regard du côté Israélien par exemple, les B’nai B’rith sont le modèle même de cette conjonction, et le Mossad s’est parfois intéressé à des sujets bien moins matérialistes qu’on ne le pense, comme la recherche de l’Arche d’Alliance et du trésor de Salomon qui, dit-on, assurerait le pouvoir temporel et spirituel à qui le détiendrait. Curieusement, ces recherches les ont orientés dans la région de Rennes-le-Château où il semble que diverses organisations ultrasecrètes et antagonistes se disputent dans l’ombre le “Dépôt spirituel” présent sur place. Crowley, Gurdjieff et Sebottendorf furent eux-mêmes des agents doubles, tout comme l’etrange Georges Monti qui allait même jusqu’à jouer triple jeu et dont je vous invite à découvrir le parcours incroyable si ce n’est déjà fait. Raymond Abellio, qui connaissait très bien les mécanismes des coulisses occultes du pouvoir (il fut connecté à la Cagoule puis conseiller occulte de François Mitterrand lors de son premier septennat), a su, lui aussi, dépasser les antagonismes au cours de son passé militant politique et occulte.
Pour conclure sur la situation mondiale actuelle au bord de l’abîme, j’aimerais faire un peu de publicité pour Alain Soral et son mouvement “Egalité & Réconciliation” proche des N.R., car, selon moi, son livre “Comprendre l’Empire” est excellent pour bien cerner quelles sont les intentions des deux pôles antagonistes qui aujourd’hui se disputent le destin du monde et quels en sont les enjeux géopolitiques en cours et conséquences à venir.

CwS: J’admire Alain Soral pour sa gouaille et ses “punchlines”, son côté frondeur et ses idées anti-impérialistes, mais avec le temps, son obsession d’un complot des forces Mammoniques sous l’apparat du banquier juif est un peu simpliste non? J’ai aussi pu lire quelques petits bijoux sur E&R comme par exemple une révision pure et simple de la Sainte Inquisition…
J’attends de lire un article qui nous expliquerait que les cas de pédophilie au sein de l’église étaient en fait commis par des rabbins en soutane…

BvS: On trouvera toujours des défauts chez Alain Soral mais c’est un homme d’honneur qui n’a pas peur de s’exprimer. Quoi qu’il se réfère parfois à Evola, sa vision de l’ésotérisme et des sociétés secrètes reste certes souvent limitée et peut parfois déraper vers des interprétations et amalgames rapides, mais son approche des phénomènes politiques cible généralement l’ennemi là où il faut.

CwS: Revenons à la musique, j’ai cru lire quelque part que vous souhaitiez que Barbarossa Umtrunk devienne plus organique, à la manière d’un véritable groupe. Est-ce un virage que vous aimeriez amorcer dès le prochain album? Avez vous l’intention de jouer live?

BvS: C’est en effet une de mes envies, mais cette nouvelle formule risque de mettre du temps à se mettre en place, car j’ai pris l’habitude de travailler seul en studio, bien qu’il soit prévu de faire participer un ami guitariste à mes futures compos dès que nous en trouverons mutuellement le temps. Pour l’instant rien n’est encore entamé, mais le virage, lorsqu’il aura lieu, risque parfois d’être plus “Doom” ou “Krautrock” dans une certaine approche du son car j’ai envie d’apporter de nouvelles vibrations, plus organiques mais néanmoins toujours monolithiques, guerrières et transcendantes à ma musique. Toutefois, les ambiances invoquées resteront tout de même du “pur” Barbarossa et de nombreux passages continueront d’évoluer dans le même sillage qu’à l’heure actuelle. J’ai simplement envie d’élargir quelque peu ma palette de sons en lui adjoignant des sonorités plus organiques et de me préparer ainsi à un jeu de scène “live” puissant pour les années à venir. J’ai reçu pas mal de propositions de la part de labels ou d’organisateurs de concerts, mais il va falloir attendre encore un peu avant que Barbarossa Umtrunk ne monte sur scène.

CwS: Une série de concerts de Barbarossa au coeur de ces lieux magiques évoqués plus haut serait fantastique… Quelle est ta vision d’un concert de Barbarossa Umtrunk?

BvS: Les Concerts à venir de Barbarossa Umtrunk seront des cérémoniels ritualisés où l’accent sera mis sur la mise en scène et tout l’aspect multimédia qui pourrait s’y adjoindre. Ces lieux sacrés que j’ai évoqués plus haut seraient en effet les endroits idéals où jouer en plein air et c’est une idée que je retiens! Ce qui serait interéssant, ce serait de célébrer des solstices tout en jouant “live” mes morceaux au coeur de la Forêt ou du Cromlech, de simples concerts se transformant alors en véritables feux de joie et cérémonies païennes.

CwS: Etes vous satisfait de Ufa-Muzak? Pensez vous continuer collaborer avec ce label?

BvS: UFA Muzak est mon label favori et j’en suis plus que satisfait. Tout d’abord je suis complètement “accro” aux artworks de Nickolay B. et à toute l’esthétique, qui du packaging au visuel enjolive chacune des sorties du label. Les groupes signés sont tout aussi excellents et n’ont pas peur d’être engagés! Les thèmes que je traite, plus particulièrement lorsqu’il s’agit de l’ésotérisme Nazi, collent de surcoit parfaitement aux aspirations du label. J’ai signé un certain nombre de productions chez UFA Muzak et bien que je sois aussi liés à d’autres labels comme Twilight records ou Urkraft chez qui doivent sortir certains de mes prochains albums, je n’ai néanmoins pas décidé d’en arrêter là avec UFA Muzak. Mon split avec Escuadron de la Muerte à venir doit d’ailleurs paraître sur UFA Muzak dans les mois à venir…

CwS: Nickolay Busov, le patron du label, s’est occupé de l’artwork, lui avez vous laissé carte blanche ou s’agit t-il d’un véritable échange entre vous?

bvS: Il y a un réel échange au sens où je lui livre un certain nombre de clés des mystères évoqués dans ma musique et que je l’oriente aussi vers certaines pistes visuelles et graphiques que j’ai en tête. Ensuite, il a carte blanche et je ne suis jamais déçu du résultat et même bien souvent très agréablement surpris par la justesse avec laquelle il a su cerner les thèmes évoqués. Nickolay Busov est de loin le meilleur graphiste du milieu! C’est un honneur pour moi que de travailler avec lui.

CwS: vous venez de démarrer un nouveau side-project intitulé cydonia, pouvez vous nous en parler?

BvS: J’ai toujours adoré le Dark Ambient et à la base Cydonia correspondait à mon besoin intrinsèque de créer une musique différente, plus minimaliste et sans aucuns vocaux. J’avais aussi comme idée première d’y apposer une touche “Doom-Drone” très tellurique qui se marierait avec des titres typiquement “Ambient” dans la lignée d’Inade ou Raison d’Etre. La plupart des morceaux utilisent comme trame sonore un nombre impressionnant de boucles de sons spatiaux, de sondes et de pulsars retravaillées et “modifiés”, sur lesquels j’ajoute mes propres parties musicales. Je suis passionné tout à la fois d’Astronomie savante et de Cosmologie quantique de pointe ( Marc Lachière-Rey, Jean Pierre Luminet, Stephen Hawking, Brian Greene…) mais aussi par les écrits plus marginaux de savants parallèles comme les Dr. Victor Clube et Bill Napier, Robert Bauval, Graham Hancock, Velikovski ou en matière de SF les romans “Hard science” d’ Arthur C. Clarke et Stephen Baxter, sans oublier les théories du néo-évhémérisme des milieux ufologiques.

En choisissant ce nom de projet j’ai voulu faire référence à la région de “Cydonia Mensae” sur Mars où furent pris les clichés des sondes Viking 1 et 2 en 1976 qui à l’époque défrayèrent les chroniques puisque le grand public y a découvert pour la première fois le mystérieux “visage de Mars”. Si les théories du Baudrier d’Orion, du retour imminent de Nibiru et si la question de Supérieurs Inconnus venus de la constellation de Sirius parlent à ceux qui me liront, je les invites à jeter une oreille attentive à ce nouveau projet sur lequel j’ai prévu de m’investir aussi intensément que j’ai pu le faire avec BU. Le premier album “Sinus Medii” est paru tout récemment sur SkullLine et je ne devrais pas tarder à sortir le second opus sur le netlabel francophone Cyanure prod. En réalité, Cydonia c’est en quelque sorte le développement de ce que j’avais déja entamé sur certains passages de “Distant Shores”, c’est un peu la face cachée de Barbarossa Umtrunk, son exil et son ascension vers des sphères et des climats d’orientation inconnues toujours plus cosmiques et ténébreux. Avec Cydonia j’opère une approche différente de la musique, bien moins martiale, ce qui me donne au final l’opportunité de développer de nouvelles techniques de composition plus contemplatives.

CvS: En plus de cette actualité vous sortez également une nouvelle collaboration avec front sonore. a quoi peut-on s’attendre et quel est le concept de ce disque?

BvS: A la sortie même de notre premier split “Le Siècle des Grands Abattoirs”, nous avions prévu avec Front Sonore de renouveler l’expérience et de livrer un second chapitre. L’idée première était de traiter de sujets plus contemporains à travers un regard neuf, engagé et en guerre contre le néo-Impérialisme Atlantiste et l’entité Sioniste. On en a reparlé et on a discuté ensemble des sujets (d’actualités pour la plupart) que nous allions respectivement développer.”Apokatastasis” dessine à travers la connexion étroite de chacun de nos morceaux respectifs le fil conducteur d’une Histoire visible et invisible au bord de l’agonie. Cette seconde collaboration s’est donc construite en totale symbiose des deux côtés et le résultat final de notre nouvelle alliance s’est encore une fois avéré être très efficace. En dernier lieu, on s’est fait plaisir en opérant en commun une reprise de “C’est un Rêve” de Death In June qui vont en faire sourire plus d’un mais sûrement aussi faire grincer des dents! Je suis très fier de ce disque et mon travail en commun avec Front Sonore n’est pas prêt de s’arrêter, un projet de collectif artistique et musical à la tête duquel siègeront nos deux projets respectifs est d’ailleurs en cours d’élaboration.

CwS: Tu as mentionné tout au long de l’interview une foule de sorties musicales à venir et un nombre impressionnant d’ouvrages de référence: où trouves-tu tout ce temps? et jusqu’où aimerais-tu amener ce projet? aurais tu un problème avec une plus grande exposition dans une logique de secret qui peut correspondre à certaines doctrines évoquées dans ta musique?

BvS: J’ai dévoilé de nombreuses influences personnelles au cours de cet entretien et je ne le referai pas de sitôt mais les questions s’y prétaient, j’aime laisser le soin à l’auditeur d’approfondir ou non le sujet par lui-même si ca lui chante et je ne veux en aucun cas lui “mâcher” le travail car il en perdrait toute la saveur et la beauté qui débordent de la découverte de ces mystères pour qui “cherche” par lui-même. C’est à chacun de suivre sa propre voie selon ce que lui dicte son coeur…
Cela n’empeche pas qu’avec le temps, j’aimerais rendre ma musique plus accessible et un tout petit moins “élitiste” sans toutefois cesser d’y évoquer des mystères et des arcanes bien spécifiques et délibérément orientés.

CwS: Vous sentez-vous proche de la scène industrielle martiale? J’ai tendance à penser que la plupart des groupes se bornent à copier ce que faisait Der Blutharsch il y a 15 ans… Quel est votre avis? Quels sont les groupes qui comptent aujourd’hui dans cette mouvance à vos yeux?

BvS: Bien que je sois parfois qualifié d’OVNI musical au sein de la scène industrielle martiale par les journalistes goths, je me sens comme faisant partie intégrante de cette mouvance artistique et je suis fier de représenter avec certains de mes confrères et collaborateurs, la nouvelle génération des groupes français. Je trouve que les groupes actifs du moment les plus talentueux sont Allerseelen, Horoliogum, Golgotha, Der Blaue Reiter, L’Horrible Passion, Die Weisse Rose, Ianva, Wermut, Ryr, Sturmast, Luftwaffe ou encore Dawn & Dusk Entwined, sans oublier bien sûr Von Thonstahl qui dans un genre “Militant” sont les meilleurs et les plus intègres. Je reste très attaché aux anciens groupes qui ont lancés la mouvance, il ya une dizaine d’années: Blood Axis, Ataraxia, Der Blutharsch, Tribe of Circle, Skroll, ISN, LJDLP, Camerata Mediolanense, Toroidh, Sophia, Karjallan Sissit et même Puissance, je ne me lasse pas de les écouter… Les nouveaux groupes ont, hélas, de plus en plus tendance à se copier les uns les autres, ils tombent bien trop souvent dans le cliché militariste facile et c’est dommage. En apportant systématiquement une touche sonore “rituelle” sur mes titres les plus guerriers, j’ai choisi, pour ma part, d’illustrer des concepts métahistoriques, de dévoiler des connexions occultes entre les politiques et les sociétés secrètes dans l’Histoire en levant le voile d’Isis d’une autre Histoire, celle qui marche dans l’Ombre. L’ouverture vers l’Orient contribue aussi de cette volonté de briser les frontières. Les Thèmes Traditionnels et Esotériques liés à l’Histoire Occulte et secrète sont au final un moyen excellent de transcender la musique martiale, il faut briser les chaînes mentales, intégrer des éléments antagonistes et les réconcilier dans une transmutation alchimique de la musique “Indus Martial”. Le Rosicrucien Joséphin Péladan pour qui j’ai beaucoup de respect proclamait que l’evolution artistique n’est jamais indépendante des doctrines, car par un lien mystérieux les idées s’incarnent dans les formes, et selon lui l’Histoire des Arts sera un jour la Grande Histoire.
La Guerre des Cieux est entamé et elle est celle du Futur à venir de l’Humanité. Il ne tient qu’à nous de nous placer à l’avant-garde des Temps obscurs qui s’approchent.

CwS: Au fait, j’ai cru comprendre que Barbarossa Umtrunk tire son nom d’une liqueur allemande? avez-vous déjà bu du Barbarossa Umtrunk?

BvS: Non, mais j’aimerais beaucoup avoir le plaisir de la déguster un jour. Malgré mes nombreux pèlerinages liés à la géographie sacrée, je ne suis, hélas, jamais passé par Kyffhauser depuis toutes ces années, je ne connais d’ailleurs le site que par le biais d’articles et de photos. Utiliser le nom de la liqueur etait un clin d’oeil aussi bien à la liqueur qu’on trouve sur les lieux qu’à une célébration de ce Centre suprême, ce Nemeton de la Géographie Sacrée, “Dépôt” spirituel immémorial où repose selon la légende l’Empereur Germanique en état de Veille au coeur de la Montagne. Il ne pouvait pas y avoir de nom de groupe plus approprié pour décrire mon projet musical.
